We had the good fortune of connecting with Sherine Tate and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sherine, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I got started doing videography/photography in Philadelphia with a small business. I was the designated person to record all of her videos for her social media platforms. I started to learn more about the craft and this is also where I gained more interest as well. I met Brandon Dixon at a conference called ” Social Proof” that was in Atlanta. Brandon also serves currently as my mentor. He created a 6-week program that helps people perfect their craft as well as how to capitalize on it. The program helped me with put things in order for my business like pricing, target audience, branding and etc. I love working with entrepreneurs and focusing on the identity of their brand. Building my network with other creatives was what I wanted my goal to be. Since then, I have worked with amazing business owners as well as traveled to various conferences doing coverage.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is called Tate Digital and I offer videography as well as photography services. As far as videography, I specialize in business events, branding commercials, and I also can serve as a video editor for those who have already recorded their content. With photography, I specialize in headshots, portraits and lifestyle photoshoots. I am most proud of how I have progressed and how things are taking off in my business while working with amazing creatives. Looking back from when I first started doing my work until now, I have shown that I am eager to learn and perfect my craft. My goal is to provide amazing work and content for the entrepreneur brand that I am building a relationship with. I value relationship building when it comes to my clients. What sets me apart from others is that I add my own personal touch to each and every project that I touch. Adding my own twist to my work makes me different. When someone sees something that I have done, they will immediately know that it is the work of Tate Digital.

I would say starting out was a little slow with getting clients but I realized I had to build up my portfolio. What I wanted to do starting out, was offer my services pro bono so that I could create dope content for that specific brand that I was working with. Once I started producing more and promoting on my social media platforms, people started contacting me in regards to me doing work for them. I get the majority of my clients from either social media, referrals, or just being approached at an event. I love the fact that people do recognize the work that I do and they trust me to assist them in making their brands look amazing as well.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them around the Downtown Philadelphia area, take them to get a cheesesteak from Dalessandro’s. Go to old city to enjoy the nightlife. Philly has some cool places like Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, Magic Gardens or Tiffany Glass Mural “The Dream Garden”.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to Shoutout God for giving me faith and strength. Second, my family for supporting me.
