We had the good fortune of connecting with Amren Daniels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amren, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued a creative career because creating has always been one of the few things that made me feel the most like myself. Music gives me a way to process my thoughts, tell my story, and connect with people who may be going through similar experiences.

What keeps me going is the idea that a song can make someone feel seen, inspired, or even help them get through a difficult moment. That’s something I’ve experienced myself, and I want my music to have that same impact on others.

I’m also drawn to the freedom that comes with being an artist. It allows me to build worlds, experiment with ideas, and constantly evolve. Every project is an opportunity to grow—not just as a musician, but as a person.

For me, this isn’t just about making songs. It’s about creating something meaningful that people can carry with them long after the music stops.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is really about transformation. I make music for people who are becoming who they’re meant to be. Whether it’s confidence, love, ambition, or self-discovery, I want every project to feel like it’s helping someone move from one chapter of their life to the next.

What sets me apart is that I don’t just think of myself as a rapper—I think of myself as a creative director. Every song has its own world. I’m intentional about the music, the visuals, the fashion, the colors, and the emotions behind it. I want people to experience my work, not just listen to it.

I’m most excited about building a universe around my brand. I want every release to feel cinematic and memorable, where the music and visuals work together to tell a bigger story. That’s actually one of the reasons I’m holding onto a lot of my music right now. I’m not sitting on my music because I’m scared to release it—I’m protecting it until I can present it the way it deserves to be experienced. I want every song to have the right rollout, the right visuals, and the right story around it so when people hear it, they’re stepping into a complete world instead of just listening to another track.

Getting to where I am hasn’t been easy. I’ve had moments where I questioned myself, dealt with creative blocks, financial challenges, and times when opportunities didn’t come as quickly as I hoped. There were periods when I had to balance work with my passion, and moments when it felt like I was building everything from the ground up. But I kept creating anyway. Every setback taught me something, and every obstacle forced me to become more resourceful, disciplined, and patient.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency matters more than perfection. You don’t have to have everything figured out—you just have to keep showing up. I’ve also learned to trust my own vision. People will always have opinions about what you should do, but at the end of the day, no one understands your purpose better than you do.

What I want the world to know is that my brand is about possibility. I want people to see my journey and realize that where you start doesn’t determine where you can go. I want my music to inspire people to dream bigger, believe in themselves, embrace who they are, and keep moving forward even when the path isn’t clear. If someone walks away from my art feeling more confident, more hopeful, or more inspired than they were before, then I’ve done what I set out to do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m honestly a pretty simple person, so my idea of a good week isn’t super flashy. I’d start with just taking them around places where we can chill and talk, like the park. I like spaces where you can slow down, clear your head, and just enjoy the moment without too much going on.

For food, we’d probably hit spots like Bibimbox. I’m not big on anything too complicated when it comes to eating—I just like good food and a relaxed vibe.

If we did go out a little, we might check out places like NBT(New Brookland Tavern) or Art Bar just to experience the atmosphere and energy of the city, but I’m not really the type to be out every night or in crowded spaces like that.

Most of the time though, I’d probably take them to the studio. That’s really where I spend a lot of my time and where I feel most like myself. It’s not just about recording—it’s where ideas come to life, where we experiment, create, and build something from nothing. So if someone’s really trying to understand me, that’s the place I’d want them to see the most.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to all the people who’ve poured into me and believed in me throughout this journey. My friends Atrixalan, Jadeadu, Lensy Love, Juventad, Ra, D1 Todd, Baceem, Dex P, and iloveskrilla—they’ve all played a role in keeping me inspired and reminding me to keep going.

I also want to shout out my Momma, Greg, Zar, Kami, eezyolah, Tam the Vibe, wannapoundjuu, Black Nerd Mafia, and Signature Sound. Every conversation, collaboration, piece of advice, word of encouragement, and even just seeing them create has pushed me to become a better artist.

I’m really grateful to have such a talented and supportive community around me. None of us gets where we’re going completely alone, and I don’t take for granted the people who’ve shown me love, challenged me to grow, and believed in my vision. This shoutout is for all of them.
