Meet Delta Williams | Founder of Midnight Prayer Watch | Co-founder Smart Jewelz Network

We had the good fortune of connecting with Delta Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Delta, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is necessary in order to live a transformed life. Many times our humanity shows us that we don’t have all the answers to life and especially not to our professional careers. I have been faced with brick walls time and time again and have had to pivot into other lanes to keep progress and momentum moving upward. Typically brick walls equate to risk taking decisions. It’s only when I’m faced with a brick wall do I entertain the idea of taking a risk. The most beautiful moments of my life have happened because I took a risk. Some calculated and some just plain ol’ risky. Nevertheless, risk taking certainly adds color to our life and propels us into unknowns that always reveal more about ourselves. Living life without risk, is not living.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Midnight Prayer Watch Community(MPW) has been an amazing venture of inspiration and encouragement. The path to success could only be wrought by planning, trial, and error followed by more planning. No first-mover is ever in for a smooth landing. Nevertheless, MPW has grown to acquisition within a larger media network and has continued to impact lives across the Americas and several international territories. One of the main lessons that I have learned is without a plan, one cannot know when they have been successful. Planning is key to driving the needle forward. If you think that one day your business is going to stand itself up and come knocking on your door, think again! It takes intentionality, thought leadership, and an insatiable appetite for failure. You must fail before you can win. Thus, planning comes into the fold as the platform to stand on when success is being defined. A successful business is defined by the achievement of the business plan. Simply put, without a plan nothing moves forward, it just moves.

As a future school founder, the next generation of youth is what I am most excited about today. We are bringing back the origins of education that was founded on biblical principles. Teaching the next generation not just about what good morals and a global citizen should look like but exposing them to realist ideals while equipping them to be radical change makers in society. This is the next evolution of our mission as we continue to champion the original vision of Midnight Prayer Watch within the education landscape. Our goal to restore the original partnership between home and school will undoubtedly shake up some things and will require a lot of sweat equity but, we are here for all of it! With a team of like-minded, first-movers we aim to influence our youth in a positive way that will see downstream impacts on generations to come. Stay tuned as we stand up the first brick and mortar locations across the APAC and EMEA regions.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
ATL is a treasure chest. If you keep digging you will always find something valuable to take away. I would recommend my best friend visit in the summer time to take advantage of the festivals galore. From the Jazz festival to the Sweet Auburn festival, we will be “festivaled-out” by the time the week is over! Food and drink is in abundance everywhere you turn in ATL but some hidden spots that only locals know about can be found in EAV (East Atlanta Village) just driving down Moreland Ave. you will easily spot food truck parks and the string of lights on the road that leads to plenty of late night vibes. Another up and coming area that is just gaining popularity is in West Midtown called the Interlock. Making my way there for a round of mini golf and virtual reality games at the Sandbox are my favorite things to do when I can afford it haha!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are those that influence you by how they lived their lives and how they poured into you. This shout out goes to my dad who is the reason why I live life ON purpose. My father passed by taking his life when I was in my early 20s. One can only imagine the devastating impacts that his suicide caused on my life. The lesson here is not taking what happened to me and drowning in the consequences of someone else’s actions who happened to be my father but turning it on its head and being fiercely determined not to do the same thing. Living my life ON purpose as a shout out to my dad is the ultimate lesson of what not to do along with how I can continue to honor him as his legacy by inspiring others to encourage, uplift, and love one another while they still have the chance to because life is only a vapor.
