Hi Ranaj, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
For me, success isn’t about cars, clothes, and money, or chasing a spot on the charts just to fit into a mold that wasn’t built for me; it’s about the raw, unfiltered truth of my own evolution. When I sit down to write tracks like “Coming Out” or “Family Ties,” success is found in the absolute freedom of pulling from my own intuitions, transforming the vulnerabilities of the queer experience into a sonic landscape where anyone can find refuge. It’s collaboration, it’s pushing creative boundaries, and it’s knowing that a song can act as both a mirror and a lifeline for someone still trying to navigate who they are. If my music can spark that fire of unapologetic self-love in just one person, giving them the courage to live their life out loud, then I’ve achieved exactly what I set out to do.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What truly sets me apart is that, at the end of the day, I still consider myself a human being first, something I think we tend to forget in this industry. Releasing projects like Prolific and Intuitions is my way of reminding both myself and my listeners that it’s okay to feel, to express your thoughts, and to stay deeply in touch with your emotions. For context, Prolific takes you on a complete emotional rollercoaster, while Intuitions takes a deeper dive into the themes introduced in that first record. We faced so many challenges creating those albums, but the ultimate lesson is resilience. No matter how many times people try to put you down or discourage you, you have to keep pursuing your dream and overcome every obstacle in your way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta, the ultimate week-long trip would be an immersion into culture, resilience, and raw creative expression. We would ground ourselves in history at the MLK National Historical Park, soak in local art at the High Museum, and dive deep into Atlanta’s music culture at the Trap Music Museum and independent vinyl spots like Criminal Records. While cruising the city and exploring the vibrant energy of the BeltLine, the perfect soundtrack would be Ranaj’s albums, starting with the emotional rollercoaster of Prolific before taking a deeper, more introspective dive into Intuitions. Between legendary comfort food at Busy Bee Café, Asian-Southern fusion at Poor Calvin’s, and a peaceful wind-down in Piedmont Park, this trip would be all about enjoying authentic experiences and remembering that true success means staying intact with your feelings and pursuing your dreams no matter what obstacles stand in the way.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give a massive shoutout to my mother, stylesbykoranda, and my manager, bagwhisperermusic. They’ve been riding with me since day one of my music career, keeping me grounded and making sure I never lose sight of who I am.
