We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Chase and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kelly, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I used to play it safe. For years I settled for a corporate job that wasn’t lighting a spark within my soul. In addition, I settled for the beliefs “you have to work hard for your money” or “you have to work hard to be successful”. So, I worked multiple side jobs while working full time, constantly in the go-go-go, hustle mentality which led to extreme burnout. Mid 2017, I took one of the first biggest risks of my life and left the 9-5 world to grow my health coaching business I had started a few years prior; little did I know, I left the 9-5 to grow myself, to find myself again. Late 2018, after months of staying in on the weekends to read personal development books, listen to empowering podcasts about mindset hacks and business strategy, in addition to journaling, practicing self care, affirmations, exercising, and truly hone in on myself versus going out on the town; I took the biggest risk to date and took a leap of faith to be a cast member on what turned out to be a number 1 rated reality show on Netflix. WHOA what an experience that was. It changed my life; during filming, post filming, once the show aired, and now. My life is constantly evolving, at a rapid rate mind you, since that show. I hired my first 1:1 business & mindset coach post-filming (another risk-y investment), and my coach, Erin Nicole Porter, rocked my world, knocked my socks off, blew my mind with concepts and methodology that didn’t make any sense, yet made all the sense! This deep dive coaching is what was the driving catalyst to the evolution of my coaching business. I went from health coach to now a business and mindset coach. So you ask, how do I think about risk? And what role has taking risks playing in my life/career? If you aren’t challenging yourself, you aren’t changing. Period. Take more risks, step into the unknown and watch your life evolve at a rate that doesn’t make sense.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Sales Rep turned Health Coach turned Reality Show Star turned Business and Mindset Coach! My stories set me apart from others; no one has lived my life, possibly a similar one, but not identical to mine, and this is what makes me unique. Every challenge I’ve endured in life, from sexual abuse, to career changes, extreme debt, weight loss & health challenges, dating & relationship battles, to being publicly humiliated, and my business going through the ups & downs of entrepreneurship, have never knocked me down and kept me down. I’ve always gotten back up, and have turned my messes into successes; and that’s what I help my clients do. Becoming a Business & Mindset Coach started after I, too, worked with a Business & Mindset Coach, Erin Nicole Porter. I hired her following the filming of Love Is Blind; the biggest risk, extremely emotionally charged, yet most incredible experience of my life (so far). She was basically a therapist for me, helped me discover a variety of limiting beliefs, fears, and deep rooted negative behavioral patterns that were keeping me stuck in life. She empowered me to let go of the control I had on dating/relationships, success & money, and life altogether. My life changed, and so did my business. A few of the most important lessons I’ve learned are 1) Celebrate, celebrate the highs and lows, the good and the bad, the achievements and the challenges, and be grateful for each as all things are happening for us. 2) Let go. Let go of what’s no longer serving you to create space for inner peace & happiness, love, money, all things you desire. 3) Lean into discomfort. The most uncomfortable thing is actually being still, sitting in silence and BEing with your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It’s mandatory for self growth and expansion to do this. I simply want the world to know that life isn’t meant to be hard. Your business isn’t meant to be hard, overwhelming, exhausting. You chose to be an entrepreneur because you wanted to design your own life. Let go of what’s not serving you, all the “should’s” and take aligned action to who you want to Be. As you do the things to become the person, you’ll have all that you desire. It’s that simple. Biz strategy + energetics of business is how I help women scale their business, improve their relationships, and expand into one incredibly confident, empowered, worthy woman!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d definitely take them for a stroll or rent the Birds on the Beltline and make stops at Lady Bird, pop into Barcelona Wine Bar for lite bites and a glass of wine on their patio; would also love to take them on some type of art tour or history tour of the city (simply because I haven’t done that either and I know we’d both enjoy it). Possibly a hike in North Georgia especially during the Fall when the leaves are changing colors; or even a nature walk to a more local spot the Bamboo forest in East Palisades Indian Trail in Sandy Springs. It’s so cool! For the evenings I would take her to my favorite spots: Garden Room for all the feminine high vibes, Basils to sip wine on the patio for a cute backyard feel, the Optimist for incredible seafood dishes, down to Decatur to Leon’s or no.246, and even to downtown Roswell and Alpharetta for some fun eats, cocktails and live music, and shopping if she’s down for that. I’d even just love to host a fun friends night in, make a dinner or order food delivery, drink wine, play card games, and share stories to truly communicate and get to know one another on an even deeper level.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! I have many people to thank for my incredible journey; these individuals have transformed me, challenged me, empowered and motivated me to rise above and keep going when times got tough… and man did they get tough. I’d love to Shoutout my parents first and foremost! Mom & Dad, you continue to believe in me, support my decisions (maybe not agree…haha), and truly act in the name of love. I appreciate you more than you know! Furthermore, I’d like to honor my coaches: Erin Nicole Porter, thank you for changing my life, helping me to overcome burnout and have the biggest breakthroughs, opening up to receive unlimited exponential abundance of love, wealth, peace, and happiness. In addition to all the business strategy + biz energetics methods, which I now confidently coach my clients on too! You’re incredible! Cayla Craft, you’re a force to be reckoned with and I don’t know where I’d be had you not so deeply touched the core of my soul; always pointing out my limiting beliefs, empowering me to rise above and taking aligned action towards becoming a future “Mommy Millionaire”. Angie Lee, thank you for always showing up as your true authentic self becoming everyone’s online best friend. You’re a Doer and Shaker in the online space, and I’m so grateful to have learned about the basics of the online business world from You. You constantly put a smile on my face with your generosity & silliness; keep shining your light! Melanie Layer, who brought so much awareness to the beliefs, fears, stories, and masculine energy that was keeping me stuck and making me play small in not just my business but more specifically my love life. Your trainings are by far some of my favorite more impactful lessons; and I’m so grateful I created the healing space to embody your teachings this past year. In addition, I’d like to shed light on two more individuals who are near and dear to my heart: One, my sister. She’s the brightest light I know, one I wish every individual in this world could have the opportunity of knowing. Of course we have our indifferences, but in the end, she’s one of my greatest teachers, supporters and inspirations. Her journey of trusting her Higher Self is a true testament to the mantra “the Universe has Your back.” It so does. Second, my dear friend, Josh Hamrick. I’m sure those who personally know me may read this and be confused; but the fact of the matter is that through my awareness & healing journey, I have a great understanding that Josh was put into my life to be my greatest test when it comes to love & relationships. I failed, forward; and although I am sorry our friendship was tampered with, I am forever grateful for You, our conversations, and the space we created for one another. You’re a light and you still bring me the most joy.
