We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaianna McCants and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaianna, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Patience. It takes time to grow something great.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I create art that bridges the gap between art, design, and music while exploring vinyl records as a canvas. I have just been reimagining what Art and vinyl records can be. I’ve gotten to where I am today by experimenting with different mediums and making the most out of what I have. As far as my brand and story, I just want to be known for making art that allows people to reminisce.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently live in Charlotte NC, one of my favorite ice cream places is Ninety’s Ice Cream

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My father taught me a lot about visual art and is the reason I draw today.
