We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The spirit of entrepreneurship has always been in me. Once I learned what the word meant, that you can create a business and lifestyle around your dreams and visions, it seemed like the only thing I wanted to do. Throughout my early adulthood, I had to navigate the economic recession of 2008-10, and knew that financial security only came to those who worked for it. My passion for cosmology and hair allowed me to explore my entrepreneurship dreams while enjoying what I do everyday. This became my foundation for how I operated my salon spaces and eventually led to opening Head Quarters Hair Clinic. My hair clinic has been a labor of love for over 8 years, planning, learning, strategizing and so much more to make this a reality. I was blessed with the opportunity to create the job of my dreams, that fit me perfectly.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own Head Quarters Hair Clinic in Marietta, Ga. This is a different type of hair salon setting in that is managed by a Hair Loss Practitioner to provide successful hair growth options and solutions. We focus on repairing, restoring, replacing, and rejuvenating hair with very different and direct methods of application. Lest we forget, this is still a full service salon, where clients get one on one treatment and the hair of their dreams. What sets us apart is our ability to deliver results to our clients in ways that enrich their whole lives. We restore confidence and prepare professional women for serious seats at the proverbial table. It was quite the journey to opening. As mentioned before, this was an 8 year labor of love. It seemed like fate when I was finally able to find a location that could house this big business idea that I had been planning for so long. Everything fell in my lap except the hard wood floors. Just so happened I learned how to lay floors on Youtube in time to do it myself, which costed me a fingertip at one point. Once open and somewhat settled, COVID-19 hit and the salon was forced closed for quarantine. It was stressful to say the least. If nothing else I learned flexibility, faith and perseverance. I was able to achieve a better work life balance. I learned how to pivot with the economy and create solutions for the current needs of the clients, not just mine. Eventually, we were able to resume business, and continue expanding the clinic. What I want people to know about me as a business owner is that I am genuinely grateful for my business and pour everything I can into to for my clients to enjoy. Although tasking, I am excited to do what I do, and create this environment. I enjoy the education and refinement needed to keep leveling up and evolving. It brings me joy to bring ideas to fruition and walk through every step of the process. My brand story is simple, in that the clients come first. And to give them solutions and results.
