We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaliya Bashir and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaliya, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The light bulb went off to start Aaliya Loves You (aaliyalovesyou.com/classes) after realizing that so many health/beauty businesses had to close their doors due to the pandemic. As the founder of Warrior Body Spa, I’ve been able to maintain operations and flourish for over 8 years by growing a reliable loyal client base with systems that allowed us to continue to generate revenues when we had to close our doors due to the stay-at-home ordinance. We are featured in Atlantan Magazine’s Best of Atlanta 2021! Aaliya Loves You is my avenue to serve and help other people especially other health/beauty business owners because there will always be value in making our community feel and look beautifully healthy.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets Warrior Body Spa apart: We have always had the focus and mission to help our clients reach their health and wellness goals by providing detoxification services in the most zen environment. We’ve been doing this for over 8 years, when “detox” was only considered when discussing drug use/rehabilitation. We are true pioneers.
What sets Aaliya Loves You apart:
I’ve accumulated my knowledge and experience over my career to now provide tools and resources to those who may not have had access or exposure, and now I’m giving away the playbook. I had to learn through all of my failures. Finally accepting my role as a visionary, I have learned to allow the world to catch up to my ideas, and not slow myself down to what the general public appears to accept and understand. I have overcome challenges by asking my clients what they need, attending conferences, reading books, and reaching out to mentors for guidance. Failure has never been an option.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Eclipse di Luna – Spanish / Tapas restaurant – best brunch ever! Sweetwater Creek State Park – I love camping but this park is even great for a day in the great outdoors.
Warrior Body Spa – lovely day spa with the focus on detoxification.
James Room – a bakery storefront that is actually a speakeasy that offers a unique experience.
Katz Cafe – awesome comedy night on Tuesday.
High Museum – Catch their Friday night live music event if you can (High Frequency Fridays)
Ponce City Market has an array of shops, eateries and a yoga studio. My favs: Vegan Bar, Goorin Bros. Hat Shop, CorePower Yoga
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m so very grateful for the Warrior Body Spa team. Teamwork makes the dream work, and we wouldn’t be able to be such a service to the community without a team effort. Yolanda, Leon, Sade, Janay and Gina are all gems that allow us to make magic happen every day.
