The lessons we’ve learned along the way

One of the most important lessons we learned is that our lives and our businesses will teach us along the way. We don’t need to know everything on day one because the challenges we face on day will likely be ones we are already equipped to handle. As we overcome challenges we get better and better and as the challenges increase in difficulty so too does our ability to tackle them.

The most important lesson my business has taught me is to stay curious. Is there a new or better way to capture and showcase my clients? Is there a better product or an upgrade I should invest in? Is there a workshop or class I can take? Was my interaction and service just satisfactory, or can I do better? One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned in the creative world is that; Ideas are alive and if you don’t act on them, they’ll move on to someone else. We’ve had moments where we came up with something powerful, something fresh, and told no one but each other. But because we didn’t nurture it or move on it fast enough, we watched someone else bring a similar idea to life. That’s when we realized… ideas aren’t just thoughts they’re like energy. As a poet and an author, the key to success is the selling of self and product, so I have had to learn to be patient. As I aspire to become a household name one day, I have learned to recognize that success will come with patience and hard work. In the meantime, it is important to enjoy the journey.
