Meet Dr Kim

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr Kim and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr Kim, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson my business and career have taught me is the power of resilience and relationships. No matter how much you plan, things can shift quickly in this industry—and you have to be ready to pivot without losing focus. I’ve learned that how you treat people, show up, and stay consistent matters. People may forget the details, but they’ll always remember how you made them feel. That’s what keeps opportunities coming and allows you to grow. I’m grateful for the lessons

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
No, it was not easy—but it was worth it.
My business, Kim McNair Productions, LLC, was built from the ground up. What sets me apart is that I don’t just plan events—I create experiences with purpose. I focus on making sure every client feels seen, every detail is executed with excellence, and every project leaves an impact. I’ve worked with nonprofits, government agencies, corporations, and community leaders—bringing visions to life while staying true to the mission: connection, empowerment, and execution.
I also founded Business Women Empowerment Project, Inc. (BWEP), a nonprofit that supports women entrepreneurs and high school girls. That work is personal to me, because I know what it’s like to start with limited resources and have to figure it out. I wanted to create a space where women could grow, lead, and thrive—with access to mentorship, resources, and real opportunities.
How did I get here? Through faith, resilience, and learning how to pivot with power. I’ve had seasons where things were booming and seasons where I had to rebuild from scratch. But I kept going—because the purpose was bigger than the pressure.
Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned are:
Stay true to your vision, even when others don’t see it yet.
Your network can open doors your hustle can’t always reach—build relationships, not just contacts.
And most of all, take care of your name and your work—because your reputation is your brand.
What I want the world to know is that I’m not just building a business—I’m building a legacy.
My brand is rooted in service, leadership, and the belief that women can rise to any level when given the right tools and support. I’m living proof that your story doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
Through KMP—Knowledge, Money, Power—I’ve discovered a divine formula: when we align what we know, how we move, and why we serve, we walk in a level of purpose that creates real change.
I’ve learned that knowledge is our currency, money is our movement, and power is our calling. I don’t just want women to succeed—I want them to walk in power, own their voice, and leave a legacy of impact that generations will benefit from.
This is more than business. It’s a mission. It’s a movement. And it’s just getting started.
So no, it wasn’t easy. But I’m still standing, still moving, and still making impact. That’s what I want people to see when they see my name or my work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting for the week, oh we’re going to have a time! I’m all about good food, good vibes, and intentional moments.
First stop? We’re headed to Grits & Eggs Breakfast Kitchen—because starting the day with some shrimp and grits or an egg quiche sets the tone. The food is always on point, and the atmosphere feels like home.
Then it’s time for a little retail therapy—one of my favorite ways to recharge. We don’t need to buy a whole outfit; sometimes just finding a cute scarf or belt and walking around gives us time to laugh, talk, and catch up. It’s not just about the shopping—it’s about the connection.
We’d break for lunch at a local spot—somewhere chill where we can enjoy great food and support a small business. I love trying different places, especially those with a soulful menu or good seafood.
In the evening, we’re winding down with what I call “real talk time.” That means sitting down together, maybe with a glass of wine or tea, and having open, heart-centered conversations. We talk about life, business, relationships, our wins, our struggles—everything. It’s important to support each other emotionally and mentally, especially as women who are always pouring into others.
By the end of the week, we’ve eaten well, laughed a lot, probably shopped more than we planned—but most importantly, we’ve created memories and poured back into each other.
Because at the end of the day, that’s what matters—quality time, connection, and feeling seen and supported.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely—no success story is built alone, and I’m deeply grateful for the people who have poured into me along the way.
First, I want to give honor to my mother, who has always been my foundation. Her strength, faith, and resilience shaped who I am and continue to guide how I lead.
I also want to recognize my mentor, Dr. Alvetta Thomas, for her wisdom, guidance, and example. She’s shown me what leadership with grace and purpose truly looks like, and I’m blessed to have her in my corner.
And a big shoutout to my book manager, Dushawn Moses, whose support and insight have helped me bring my story and vision to life in a whole new way.
Each of these individuals has played a meaningful role in my journey—and I carry their influence with me every step of the way.
