We had the good fortune of connecting with Toni Rogers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Toni, how do you think about risk?
I have been in education for 14 years and unfortunately there is no such thing as bonuses, commission and yearly raises in education. If you want to make more money, as a teacher, you either have to coach a sport, sponsor a club or create more debt by earning another a degree. Around year 12, I started getting the feeling of needing more out of my life than just being a teacher and just being a mom/momager. So, it became clear that in order for me to evolve and claim my “more;” I had to create my own way. Now, let me be as transparent as possible, I didn’t act on this feeling immediately. I mean this required me to step completely out of my comfort zone and bet on myself; and I was not trying to do either of those things. But the word “more” kept getting thrown at me from all angles; church, family, friends, people I had just met (I know that was God!) even my students, until it was all I could think about. So what do I think about risks? Taking a risk added consultant, creative director, casting director, editor, model and business owner to my resume in less than a year. Overall, taking a risk gets 5 stars from me; I highly recommend it! Lastly, this is for anyone reaming this, don’t let anyone put you in the “just” category (including yourself), allow yourself to grow, evolve, take risks and show up for yourself every day!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing I get most excited about in my business is the community of people that has been built. It was like I stepped out, took a risk and ended up finding “my people!” I would also say that, this is the thing I am most proud of. That human connection and knowing that you are not navigating the space of being a Momager alone, is so important.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So, I have lived in Atlanta for almost four years and I absolutely LOVE it here. We would really need a month to go everywhere I would want to go, but here are some of my favorites. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my “Shoutout” to my students past and present. They inspire me and push me; the teacher-student relationship I have with them is reciprocal. Sometimes I am the teacher and the best times I am the student.
