We had the good fortune of connecting with Paula Whittle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paula, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is the ability to provide solutions and build platforms that help others to succeed. I am not successful until I help others succeed.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a serial entrepreneur with several businesses. I have defied the impossible to become a legend in the city of Atlanta by creating my own fashion and entertainment powerhouses. I pioneered the Atlanta Fashion Week 13 years ago as a platform for aspiring designers and models while bridging the gap and connecting continents through fashion. I have worked with over 400 designers globally, produced 100 shows and events. I continue to mentor young girls in Atlanta through my nonprofit, Fashion Apprentice. With another one of my businesses, the Fashion Creative Agency, I develop and market brands through media and visual communications. I also produce film and photography. I manage all of this and businesses while battling chronic diseases. My story is a story of hardship, faith, innovation, and triumph with chapters still to be written.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is fun, exciting and has a lot to offer! Let’s take a trip down memory lane to the Martin Luther King Center and Civil Rights Museum then under the sea to the Georgia Aquarium and enjoy a bit to eat at the Sun Dial Restaurant to get a view of the City. At night we would have to experience the nightlife at Suite Lounge. The next day, let’s shop at Phipps Plaza and surrounding specialty boutiques and another night on the town with bar hopping downtown. The rest of the week would be daily visiting the various sites like Stone Mountain, Centennial Park, Atlanta Botantical Garden, SkyView, Ponce City Market and more!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I give honor to God. Without Him, I am nothing.
