We had the good fortune of connecting with Terence “Skinny” Divinci and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terence “Skinny”, what do you attribute your success to?
I’d have to say originality and artistic expression combined with my passion, the meaning and cause. Why I do it and who I do it for. Because I do it for YOU! When I say you, I mean everybody. In everything I do I try to ensure it has meaning, as a result, I find ways to give back to minorities and others in my community. I find success through authentic positive intentions. When you intend to do positive things, you intend to be successful. Among my business ventures is a Coffee Shop that will be a landmark and dedication to the great city of Atlanta. It will also provide after school programs for the youth, specifically our young black kings!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Born in Maryland, raised by a single mother, on public assistance in the DMV area. Growing up in that atmosphere around a lot of criminal activity made it difficult to trust many. It also made me very aware at a young age. Hard to keep friends, due to constant death and jail. That missing father figure combined with that awakened my passion for fatherhood and being there for our young black kings. It made me more vigilant in my relationships with my kids and cause me to strive for more in life and business.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thank you to all the family and friends who have truly shown support throughout the entire process. A special shout out to my wonderful and amazing wife Dany!! Thank you for listening to all my ideas, staying up late with me brainstorming and for riding with me all the way!
