We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Drumwright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, what do you attribute your success to?
I’d have to say the most important factor in our success is our commitment to quality. It’s actually been very difficult to achieve. Producing cocktails that we hope to be of the highest quality available are very expensive and time consuming to develop. That’s the whole point for us though. We just love great cocktails. We started this company so that other people, that love great cocktails as much as we do, could have them anytime and anywhere! So really, the most important factor is our selfish love of cocktails. Wait, did you just trick me into saying I’m selfish?! Next question please.

What should our readers know about your business?
So this journey started a little over 3 years ago with a very simple question…”Why can’t we have great cocktails everywhere?”. I mean, when you go tailgating you should be able to have a great Daiquiri not just a light beer. When you’re on a long flight you should be able to sip on a well made Manhattan. Am I right? Wouldn’t it be great if you could have a delicious Gin Gimlet at your friends house-warming party? Well, we thought so too. As easy as it is to answer yes, making that a reality has been a very very tough process, and there have been challenges. Finding the best distilling partners who match our high end quality needs while also keeping our ethos of All American, small batch, and craft has been a real adventure (although, tasting sessions have definitely made it a little easier ;). Truly mimicking fresh made cocktails from your favorite bar, with fresh natural ingredients has also been a tedious, but rewarding task. To say nothing of all the licenses, facilities, supply chain, and marketing needs that go along with all this. When I think about how we got to where we are, there’s a quote from Einstein that really sums it up. “It’s not that I’m smart, it’s that I stay with problems longer”. I believe that’s the key to success at anything. Tenacity and work ethic. Just try not to focus too much on the insinuation here that “I’m not smart” ok! 🙂 I just want the world to know that we’re working our butts off to create great cocktails they can have anywhere and with zero effort. One of our slogans is “Artfully Crafted by Our Hands, So You Only Need One to Enjoy”. Oh, also, to answer the question you were thinking about already, that’s the meaning behind our name. Now everyone can be a craft bartender by simply twisting a top…with one hand. These are truly “Ready to Drink”. In some ways I wish getting this thing off the ground were as easy as enjoying our cocktails, but really, I don’t think I would change a thing. Accept maybe getting started even sooner, I am ready to see these in everyone’s hand, and then maybe I could get some rest.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I may be a little biased. I’ve had a close relationship with Red Beard Restaurants since I moved to Atlanta. I would definitely send a friend to any of their establishments like Gunshow, Revival, and Cold Beer to name a few! (Hint Hint, keep an eye out for our bottled cocktails at their restaurants 😉 ). If my friend was in Decatur having fried chicken and cocktails at Revival, I’d tell them to pop over to Kimball house for more cocktails and a dozen oysters (those folks are oyster aficionados and make excellent classic cocktails!) Then walk over to Leon’s Full Service…for more delicious cocktails. You can’t go wrong bar hoping along the Beltline these days. You can actually go from Gunshow to Cold Beer on the Beltline. If my friend had on her walking shoes, I’d tell them to continue up to Inman Park. Maybe grab a cocktail at Little Spirit (hmm I’m starting to see a pattern here). That’s a lot of cocktails, they should probably pop into Ponce City Market for Italian food and recoup at Bellina, then head up to the rooftop for an amazing view. I’d definitely take them for a tour of the great restaurants on Buford Highway as well! Honestly, Atlanta has a ton of great bars and restaurants! I’ve lived in Houston, Brooklyn, and L.A. and I can say Atlanta can definitely hold its own. We’ve also got great parks, some nice trails, and you can shoot the Hooch! Are you sold yet best friend?!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are way too many people in my life that deserve to be mentioned here, but there are two that clearly need to be mentioned. My business partners are actually my Brother and Sister-in-Law. They have supported me through so many life changing events. Not only do they have great taste in beverages, but they are both extremely smart and bring a very diversified set of skills to our team. They’re my best friends and It has been an absolute pleasure to work with them on this little family business of ours. Oh, also, it’s in their contracts that I have to mention them…but seriously, they’re great!
