We had the good fortune of connecting with (Cassy) Cassandra Cervantes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi (Cassy) Cassandra, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
A Setback will expose the way you decide to move forward!

Your decision should NEVER be to give up!

Be CLEAR and CERTAIN with WHAT YOU WANT TO DO AND NEVER FORGET YOUR WHY!

I journal a lot actually and maybe some of these questions that I ask myself may help give you some clarity!

What skills do I still need to master and have I been consistently applying myself and training?

Would I continue if my breakthrough didn’t happen for another 5 years?

What does success look like to me?

I don’t think anyone should give up because success never happens overnight. You’re going to need a lot of discipline and set a plan to make it happen!
THERE WON’T BE A HANDOUT PUT IN THE WORK BE THE BEST AT WHAT YOU DO AND GO GET!
If you’re clear and certain with what you want go after it and apply that pressure! Do it despite what the world and the people around you believe because at the end of the day, people choose to do what brings them fulfillment and I don’t think you’d want to give up what you love to do now would you?

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love dancing, singing, acting and everything else that falls under the entertainment industry category!!! My journey has been interesting now easy absolutely not I put the work in and will continue to apply myself! The thing that keeps me going is my why and my passion for the performing arts!! I want to give back to my people and my community through the things that I’m passionate about. I’m very impatient with myself and I had to learn that everything takes time! I had to accept that there may be challenges that may happen in life and catch me off guard and figure out what I’m able to do that’s in my control.

I want people to know that it’s possible! That people who come from Hispanic community can also be represented in the entertainment industry without having to assimilate to “Americas appropriate standards”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to the Aquarium of the Pacific first, the beach is near by that would be second, and go to the PIKE to shop or have something to eat there!!

All of my mentors along my journey!!!
