We had the good fortune of connecting with Shelena Racquel Omokaro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shelena Racquel, what inspires you?

Many things inspire me. The one that inspired me the most is helping people understand their God-given purposes. Diary Of Queen Esther is a faith-based business that is rooted in purpose. I love when people come into the understanding of who God called them to be.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally
I am the founder and creator of Diary Of Queen Esther Boutique and Handcrafted Herbal Body by Shelena Racquel. It’s a lifestyle boutique that specializes in Handcrafted Herbal Body Care and Dope, Regal, and Quality Fashion for women. I Create Divine Healing Soaps & Whipped Shea Butters With Recipes Downloaded From Heaven. Shortly after having my second son, I heard of all the harsh chemicals in many commercial brand skincare for babies. Immediately I threw out every bottle of lotion I had and began whipping up all-natural shea butter for my family and friends. I understood God created me to craft healthier skincare options for people. Shortly after having baby number (3), I began crafting soaps. In 2018, I crafted a soap called Frankincense & Myrrh (Favor Bar). That’s when I began to receive calls from customers who shared testimonies of supernatural healing and blessings that would occur when they used the soaps. At that point I understood God was using me for a much greater purpose.

The majority of my soaps recipe are downloaded from Heaven. God will take me into scriptures to read and study about herbs I’ve never heard of before. For example, I never heard of a herb called Hyssop until I read about it in the Bible. Shortly after that, I was encouraged to create the Anointed Soap Collection. That collection includes Healing Hyssop, Lily In The Valley, Fuller ”Lemon” Balm Soap, Anointed Chamomile, and Frankincense & Myrrh (Favor) Bar. After naming The Fuller ”Lemon” Balm Soap is when I found out the Book Of Malachi talks about a soap called Fuller Soap. I encourage you to read the reviews for Frankincense & Myrrh (Favor) Soap + all the other soaps on the website. Additionally, many customers say they can feel the anointing of God even when wearing the clothes they purchase from my store. For year’s I struggled with talking about this openly. I didn’t want people to feel like I was weird, too deep, or trying to sell God, because you can’t do that. One day, God said to not tell the story is to deny Him. We don’t get to choose how God uses us. We choose to be a willing vessel for His purpose for our lives. Fashion and style is what I love to do. It’s always been a form of communication to me. As a result, I Have a BA in fashion marketing and design. I taught myself how to make soaps and natural body care. I’m a researcher. I’m one of those people that love to research foods and natural remedies. Hence, that plays a role in the recipes that are created for the handcrafted products. My reason was to create something great for my family. It’s turned into a business as I began to share the products with family and friends I knew were health conscious.

Around 2016, I created www.diaryofqueenesther.com. This was for people being able to find natural handcrafted body care and quality clothing in one space. Additionally, I used to blog often. My website provided a safe space to able to share my thoughts. What I think sets me apart from other businesses is, my purpose is deeply rooted in being obedient to God and helping other people understand their God-given purpose. God is my boss. As a result, I use DOQE to be a blessing to fulfill His purpose for my life. I believe people lose hope because they’re looking for their purpose. I believe if I can allow myself to be used to help others understand God created them for an amazing purpose, hope can be restored. I got to where I am today by trusting God, staying present, connecting with my customers, and building trust with my community. I remember asking God, why are things so hard for me. He said “it’s never easy for the paver”. I have to constantly remind myself, God uses some of us to pave the road for others to travel upon. Pairing it well is the requirement. While knowing this doesn’t make things easier. I understand I have to keep pushing through. I’ve learned many lessons. A few I hold on to are

1. Trusting God even when all hell is breaking loose.

2. The power of building a team.

3. Consistency is key.

4. Communication I essential. I keep open door of communication with customers. I’m aware that online shopping can be scary. Hence, it’s about building trust with each customers so they feel comfortable shopping with me.

I want the world to know DOQE isn’t just another online boutique. It’ a Faith-Based business. I work hard to reinforce classic boutique shopping experiences. The clothes we sell are of top quality. Our handcrafted herbal body care are inspired by my children for the purpose of offering healthier & divine healing solutions to it’s users.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love food. However, I’m a vegetarian so finding good restaurants that can bring more than a plate of raw veggies can be a challenge. As a result, I love to find good restaurants that meet my expectations. I start my day off with coffee unless I’m fasting. Dunkin Donuts is my fav coffee spot… Right now. My fav restaurant is Desta Ethiopian Kitchen. I also love Marlows Tavern. They have a great vegetarian burger. So, I’d take my friend to those restaurants.

While I’ve been in GA for over 10 years, I have to do better with experiencing the city. I love the parks. Centennial is one of my favorites, so I’m sure we’d stop by there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I come from a very solid family and background. I have to give recognition to my entire family. My 3 boys, I’m a boy mom. My mother and father who have been married for over 45 years.  They are my backbone. My sister Tina Fuller for opening the doors for me to move to Marietta, GA.  My Grandmother who is the patriarch of my family.
