We had the good fortune of connecting with Sapphire and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sapphire, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own Hair Styling business was primarily to have a marketing/promoting plan. I was already pretty solid skill-wise, but because I started my Hair styling business from home I knew I had to alot of promoting. In addition, the first salon I worked in was a new salon, so I had to promote even more to compensate for a non-existing clientele at that location.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my bundle deal. My “bundle deal” consists of 1) Arriving early with positive energy 2) Having a strong work ethic 3) Having a meticulous eye for detail 4) Commending fellow grest artisans and being in the presence of greatness without feeling threatened 5) I focus on talking about ideas versus talking about others. 6) I allow myself to be teachable, 7) I incorporate excellent customer service in any facet whether it be my Custom Wig making, my Hair Growth Products Collection, or working in Film or Television, 8) I genuinely want my actresses and actors to feel comfortable with his/her hair or Wig looks before filming, while executing the agreed upon looks.

I am most proud about nativgating my way through the Film and Television to make it into the Hair Union.

I arrived where I am today professionally by 1) learning to let go 2) developing a thick skin 3) never giving up on myself , 4) continuing to be patient 5) continuing to be teachable, and 6) being persistent. NONE of it was easy. I overcame the challenges by not taking any of the challenges personally and by trusting the process.

Lessons I’ve learned along the way include 1) Trust the process 2) Be patient with myself

I want the world to know that I received no hand-outs to get into the industry, nor did I have mentor in either the hair or Entertainment Industries, but as Reverend Pam MacGregor says “Love will find a way”. If I can do it so can everyone who loves it and wants it!

I want the world to know that I created my Hair Growth Products Collection and am making it available for all who want healthy, strong, long, and thick hair. To all who have that fear their hair will never grow, thicken, strengthen—this Collection is for YOU!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would cook her breakfast because I don’t go out to eat. I would take her to a live television show taping, then hit the beach!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes! There’s quite a few people I would love to shout out! Shout out to my brother Damond Harris, my friend Peggy Boyd, Reverend Pam MacGregor at the Science of Mind Spiritual Center.
