Meet Nicole Chamelle Koeberg | Dance performer, Dance teacher and CEO of Art of Dance studio

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Chamelle Koeberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole Chamelle, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued my artistic career at the age of 6 I always knew i would be in the arts as a dancers. My career started at age six with ballroom and Latin, when later in my years i then auditioned for National School of the Arts which i completed my matric year. I always knew that i am a creative person and never wanted to do an office job.

I further ventured on to audition at the Tshwane University of Technology in pretoria where i was accepted into the performing arts Dance.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets my studio apart from other i would think is that we are not just a studio where dancing happens it is also a safe space for our young dancers to be able to express themselves, talk about their highs and lows, encourage each other through things .

I am extremely proud of our achievements as coming from a small community we have achieved many things such as placing 1st in Croatia which was our first international competition, runners up for S.A got talent there is so many to mention but i am just proud of have my studio has come for the last 10years. I am truly excited for whats to come next definitely bigger and better opportunities.

Starting Art of Dance Studio was no walk in the park to be honest it took a lot of work dedication and consistency even when times didn’t look so great from starting with 5 dancers to have over 40 then covid hit to having less. To now 2026 where we have picked up again to having over 20 dancers.

Knowing what my purpose and path is allowed me to keep going regardless of the circumstances praying was my go to as well to keep my faith and light.

I have learned that your presence and light is not for everyone the ones that are meant to see you work with you it will happen. I have also learned that GOD is in control and allowing him to place me where i need to be with my studio is where i should be. I don’t cry over closed doors no more as that door was not meant for me.

What the world should know about Art if Dance Studio is that we are different we stand out our light shines and will continue shining the world will see more of us in the coming times.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Lol this is a tricky one as I am not much of an out going person as my life is around my studio so i spent most of my days with my kids.

However if that was the case i would most definitely have a theatre experience with her same no better place then watching amazing productions, gold reef city , definitely take a to a dance workshop thats happening as dancers have a vibe like no other all you need is people and amazing music, I would probably take take her to a restaurant iv never been to for us to explore it together.

And ti end it off a three day Sun City trip cause thats my other home away from home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would firstly like to thank GOD for the path he has placed me in to work with younger dancers in my community and enrich and teach them dance, to my parents who have always supported me through this life journey and still continue to support me in my dance company.

To my community and parents in my studio for entrusting me to teach and inspire their children to be a light to them and allow their light to shine through dance.
