We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike James and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mike, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Never give up. I’ve come up with my 4Ks Keep Going Keep Grinding Keep Showing Keep Shining! The first two are for you. You have to go and grind to make your dreams happen, even when you feel like giving up. The second two are for the haters and naysayers. Show them you can, and shine so brightly that they can’t stand to be in your presence!
What should our readers know about your business?
Our mission with P&Z Life Coaching is to help you unlock your power spiritually, mentally, socially, physically, and financially in order for you to become the best version of yourself through coaching and speaking. After spending 15 years in the personal training industry, I wanted to help people more and life coaching was the direction I chose. I want people to know that adversity and setbacks are things that I have faced and overcome, and the biggest takeaway is that they can too.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m all about just discovering things. I also love plant based eating and love to eat. I would definitely take someone to some of my favorite spots to include: Plant Based Pizzeria, enVegan in Atlantic Station, Full Taste Vegan in North Dekalb Mall, Slutty Vegan, and Tassili’s Raw Reality Cafe to name a few. Going to the Aquarium is always a nice touch, and again just discovering new unheard of spots.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Huge shout-out to Youth Talk United, a nonprofit in Birmingham, Alabama that is on a mission to empower our youth and young adults on being able to acknowledge and express themselves through various different programs.
