Meet Marquis Hill | Motivational Speaker, Author, & Clothing Brand Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marquis Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marquis, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I learned that in order for me to make my dreams a reality risk taking was mandatory! Most of my biggest opportunities have came from me taking risks. I remember when I first started making my motivational videos in 8th grade I got a lot of push-back from my peers, but instead of quitting I blocked out the noise. I continued making my videos on social media channels such as TikTok. Instagram, and Snapchat and one day one of my videos did over 1.5 million views on TikTok and since then I have grown a massive community of over 170,ooo followers, but I like to call them my “supporters.” When I said I wanted to write and publish a book when I was 15 years old people thought I was crazy and to this day I have sold over 3,000 copies of my book, “U Have Genius Ability Within U,” which is available on Amazon. When I said I wanted to be on TV there were people who didn’t believe I could do it, until I was featured on NBA on TNT with Shaquille O’Neal, Dwyane Wade, Candace Parker, and Adam Lefkoe where I got to share my story and message. All of the opportunities I have been blessed with have been the aftermath of me taking risks and believing in myself more than anyone else. Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Motivational speaking is what I feel is my purpose. I have the goal to motivate and inspire as many people as I can to believe in themselves, love themselves, and bring out the genius ability that lies within them! When I started speaking I knew that being on stage and pouring into others was what I needed to do. I’ve traveled to many different elementary schools, middle schools, and churches around Georgia and in different states and traveling, sharing my story, and inspiring others is what I am truly passionate about. I have also written my first book titled, “U Have Genius Ability Within U.” which is a daily motivational book that encourages self-love, self-confidence, and perseverance. It is available on Amazon and I’ve been blessed enough to sell over 3,000 copies. I am also the CEO of my own clothing brand called, Genius Pilot Academy. The mission of my brand is to encourage people to express their genius abilities and to believe in their genius. My brand originally started from me and my father’s developing cartoon which is called, Genius Pilot Academy. The series is a story of five kids who all possess their own unique genius and who are invited to Genius Pilot Academy where they learn to grow their genius and save the world using it. In five years my goal to get our cartoon series produced and my clothing brand along with my NFT project is getting me closer to my goal of getting a trailer made for Genius Pilot Academy. I want to give a huge shoutout to my dad, Cornell Hill and a huge shout out to my mom, Danielle Underwood! Those are my amazing parents and I know I couldn’t be who I am today without them. One day I will retire both of them from working and provide them with their dream lives.
