We had the good fortune of connecting with Lester Greene and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lester, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I was a NYC bus driver for 12 years, and I dealt with so many risks and dangers on the job – from working the overnight shift to dealing with unsavory people. It really made me a stronger person. I then moved to Atlanta where I was able to apply those past experiences to my acting career. I am more fearless and more confident in my approach when interacting with producers, casting directors, talent agents, etc. I am now an Atlanta bus driver who has to still do my job despite the existence of Covid-19. My life is in danger every time I get behind that bus, but because of my tough resolve, I know I can overcome anything.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been acting for several years now, and I think my work ethic is what separates me from other people. I refuse to give up, and I’m not going to stop until I’m a household name. I also bring a certain energy to the table that is unmatched. People are constantly feeling my positive enthusiasm for life. I love life and I love living it to the fullest potential. I’ve landed speaking roles on various television shows like Power, Gotham, 50 Central, Wu-Tang: An American Saga and The Luckiest Guys on the Lower East Side. It wasn’t easy landing those roles, but every time I reach a milestone, it only empowers me. I’m just getting started, and my plan is to work with Brad Pitt, Queen Latifah, Miles Neiman, Tyler Perry, Erika Alexander, Ozzie Areu, 50 Cent (again), Will Packer, Judd Apatow, Lee Daniels, Jordan Peele, Ava Duvernay, Kevin Hart, Bradley Cooper, Lena Waithe, Oprah, Jason Bateman, John Krasinski, Ice Cube, and more.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you’re in Atlanta and you want some good fun and entertainment, you have to visit The Georgia Aquarium, Stone Mountain Park, The Martin Luther King Jr. tourist site, The World of Coca-Cola, The Battery, California Pizza, Cracker Barrel, and any Waffle House.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I always feel like you need someone who will support you unconditionally. My friends Richard Malvey and Tribel Nickerson have been there for me since the beginning – through the ups and downs. Shoutout to my business partner/friend Art Shrian. He’s also a huge supporter, and special thanks to my brother Michael Greene for always believing in me.
