We had the good fortune of connecting with Khadijah Small and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Khadijah, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think taking risks is a necessity in order to remove yourself from out of your comfort zone. In my life/ career , taking the risk of moving to ATLANTA from Pennsylvania all by myself with a 2 year old at the time was honestly the best decision I ever made for myself . In reality I was way too comfortable in my hometown and had I not made this move I would’ve still been in the same routine and position that I was in. Moving made me UNCOMFORTABLE and forced me to push myself towards the life I knew I wanted and deserved.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a lash instructor and I host classes to teach other women how to do lash extensions and become their own boss and start their journey to financial freedom.
I am most proud of all my classes being successful and fully booked and women genuinely learning a new skill and starting their new business from the skills that I taught them.
I got to where I am today by taking a leap of faith and ultimately just believing in myself and my ability to teach and encourage others to get on the path that I took to success.
It wasn’t really easy especially being a single mother and having to juggle mom life and work life but by the grace of God I made it!
The lesson I learned along the way is that elevation requires separation and if you’re the smartest in the room then it’s time to move.
I want the world to know that no matter what curveballs life throws your way, you will only succeed if you just keep going and roll with the punches. Never give up and always believe in yourself and be your biggest cheerleader.
I want the world to know that my brand is and will continue to be a successful brand that will soon be known worldwide !
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate a shout out to my brother Zandre ! He kept me grounded and motivated and constantly pushed me to strive for more ! Always grateful for big bro ❤️
