Hi Kenyata, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting The Beauty Palace ATL was a no brainer. I truly am in LOVE IN LOVE YOU HEAR ME with what I do so starting a business involving skincare I knew I was going to do it. They say find something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life well I’ve found that something that I love and I hope to share my love with those God intends to receive it. Skincare is IT!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Beauty Palace ATL is a Beauty Business that specializes in advanced skin care, lash extensions, makeup body polishing, waxing, & more. It is a one stop shop for all your beauty needs and pampering services. My two mottos are “It’s A Luxury To Service You” & “Beauty Lies Within” I feel so blessed when people choose me to be their specialist so it is a luxury of mine to be able to provide them with services. Beauty Lies Within is a play on words because beauty truly does lie within a person but it also lies within my place of business so come on in here girlllll and get extra beautiful. I am definitely super energetic loud and proud about skin so you definitely will see that come through. I am extremely proud of my growth and how far I’ve come. I started at home with minimal product, my suite space was ehhhh, & I had to be very selective of who entered my space. (cause you know people crazy so I definitely had to limit who had access to my home lol) Now I am in the process of renting my own suite space for my clients & me lol with a suite space I will be able to grow even more than I already have and I am excited about that. I will still be selective of course but now I’ll have a business address to provide so shout out to God for growth honey. My suite space Is looking more and more luxurious every other week. Soon it will be THAT SPACE. I have so many plans and ideas for my aesthetics but I can’t give y’all all my tea just watch me and you’ll see. I have learned in this business that some months are better than others but you CAN’T GIVE UP there have been months that I have no clients and there were months where I had enough and my bills got paid. Consistency really is key we really have to stop comparing our journey to others. There are NO SHORTCUTS YOU MUST GO THROUGH THE PROCESS IF YOU WANT TO BE GREAT! Skipping steps only sends you 10 steps backwards and causes you frustration I know cause I done tried DONT DO IT! I made it this far y by grace alone prayer and always reinvesting any money made back into my business. It truly takes money to make money and you have to believe that you will see the fruits of your labor. Sometimes we forget where we started and then a memory pops up and shows you that you really have been DOING THE DAMN THANG. One of the biggest lessons I have learned so far is to really believe and to stop making myself smaller for the comfort of others. I realized that I had internalized people saying I DO TOO MUCH I AM TOO MUCH and then going through a breakup tuhhh didn’t help those feelings go away. I had to sit down and talk to God first and realized I’m NOT TOO MUCH I’M THE SH** pardon my French lol but no I am and there is nothing wrong with a woman being confident and knowing who she is. Yes I’m loud yes I am too much but if you have a problem with it now I know it’s A You problem and to pray for those negative Nancies instead cause girl or boy don’t you go projecting your own personal problems and way you feel about yourself on me. I want people to know that I am truly in love with what I do and I want that to show no matter what. When my hands touch your skin to give a facial or put on someone’s lashes etc love is poring out of me. I literally am behind them cheesing the entire time cause I still can’t believe this is what I do for a living. Sometimes I see my progress pictures and am in awe of I DID THAT. The Beauty Palace ATL is a beauty business with love sewn throughout its fabric. It is my baby it is my love and I can’t wait to see you in my chair!!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m not gone lie first off I’m definitely pampering them at The Beauty Palace ATL with a facial and back facial done my Moi of course so after I have showed up and showed out relaxing and pampering them my new favorite spot is Faded @ Facet even my vegan friend tore them Chicken wings uppppppp and the lobster macaroni babbbyyyyy Play With ya mama not that! The vibe there was EVERYTHING the drinks was STOP PLAYING WITH MEEEE CAUSE THEY WAS CUTE AFF AND I LOVE CUTE DRINKS!!! Let me get my bourbon on fire please lol. I don’t drink like that but when I do I need the lavender flowers smoke candied orange peels pretty colors and glitter give me a sparkly drink and it’s on lol. We are def going to some kind of lounge because I ain’t 20 no more and I needs a lil more grown and sexy vibes with my side of ratchet. I still like leave with my wig crooked cause If my wig not crooked at the end of the night and my lashes are not falling off did I/we really have a good time??? Since we doing a week let’s travel to foreign lands for the weekend because I love love love to travel. Just know my passport got some yamps on it but it definitely needs more. I’m not gone lie my friend gone meet my other friends because we Lit and we are very inclusive we love new ppl and new girls that are drama free and love to love and Have a good time. Are you shaking it like a salt shaker girl if not we are going to shake it like one on you!!!! I do have to shout out the Cigar Bar on Panola because when all other places fail me I can always take someone here and we have the best time because the DJ be Djaying(or however you Spell it) the hookah is hookahing and the drinks and food are delicious. Just know I’m def a fun friend and we gone Have a good time even if we stayed in the house!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost it’s always THANK THE MOST HIGH BIG GOD!! Without him nothing is possible. I literally went to school during a pandemic barely any income but somehow he saw me worthy enough to get through what was supposed to be a 9 month program with a 4.0. As far as friends and family there is no One person I wish to thank I would like to thank ALL OF THEM BECAUSE THEY HAVE TRULY SHOWN OUT. I know there are people who have a hard time with friends And family supporting them but I can not say that has been my experience at all. When I needed money for supplies they all were there needed models they all showed up needed encouragement they kept me going. I truly am thankful for my people. I love y’all!!
