We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendra Knight and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kendra, what do you attribute your success to?
Success is defined on my own terms – it has to be – if 2020 taught us anything is that everyone has their own struggles. What others have more of doesn’t mean they are happy or successful.
Success is gratitude, success to me is adding value to your life, success is deciding what you want and what will make you happy.
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is setting goals for myself on every level, I use the smart goal chart (Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, Time) this chart helps me to break up my goals in areas of my business and personal life to achieve growth and help me to celebrate my work and my wins.
An example of my goal setting:
Specific: Work with a high profile client : I have to do my research, are they fit for me, who are they already working with
Measurable: Create 2-3 opportunities each week that is align with the client, promote ads and be in the same spaces they are accessing at least once a week
Actionable: Do an activity that the client enjoys, connect to the client in a way that is beyond the work but also realistic and enjoyable for you
Realistic: I want to do this because high profile clients would allow me to make more money and have more time with my family.
Time: Smart plan for 2022, Actually connect with the team of client and send credentials, Ask sphere of influence for referrals and connections

I’m a storyteller brand photographer, based in Greensboro, NC but serving the Triad and surrounding areas. I help women leverage their brand messaging and marketing strategy by capturing and filming their business, services, and products to produce elevated and high-quality media.
As a storyteller brand photographer, my job consists of understanding by researching you, your audience, and your business to position you as the expert being able to tell a story through images and film that reflect you, your workspace, your process, relating to the stories that move and matter helping clients show consistency and solve their marketing problems making it easier for them to do their business
What sets me apart and what I’m most proud of is my ability to impact and bring other women together, I see women. I see how they’ve transitioned, I see how they’ve had to adjust and pivot in ways they never thought they could. I see their wins, I see the growth and the possibility for progress.
As a photographer it’s my hope to be seen and not just captured for a moment, I truly wish to be felt. I desire this for other women
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Greensboro, North Carolina, deemed a college town with 5 colleges within the city! My fav and one that I attended is North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, known for its rich black history with figures like Ronald McNair, and the Greensboro Four.
As well as the infamous homecoming deemed as “The Greatest Homecoming on Earth”, NC A&T SU, with the heartbeat of campus, the Blue and Gold Marching machine is definitely the heartbeat of campus. The school is a treasure to visit, to learn and to be entertained!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ll love to show thanks to Quadean Knight, my husband who is my first photographer and life mentor! Thank you for always showing up for me and seeing me in a way no one can!
