We had the good fortune of connecting with Jania Massey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jania, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
I am the Founder and Executive Director of non profit, Stiletto Boss University and lead consultant for JSM Consulting. Stiletto Boss University (SBU) is a youth training program for high-school girls, that uses entrepreneurship as the foundation for teaching the power of collaboration, sisterhood and community impact. Through SBU, young women are building the skills and the confidence needed to create a social enterprise that is able to generate income while also giving back to the community. With JSM Consulting we are professional non-profit consulting firm, with a focus on helping organizations implement strategic partnerships, community awareness and sustainable development. Both are passion driven, led and offer my unique skillset and expertise to be apart of change and making a difference
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my first business over 10 years ago and evolved into a business women with purpose. I remember the moment I decided to bet on myself and become a full time entrepreneur. It was a huge gamble with high risk but the awards have been fruitful. I’ve learned what freedom means to me, what success looks like to me and how to serve the community by action and execution. I’m most proud that my clients trust me to get things done and do things well. My work ethic is disciplined and focused. My evolution continues as I grow has a women first and business person second. This journey is full of blessings but with blessings comes test. Test that stretch you in the land of uncomfortable and purpose.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The itinerary would go as follows: 11am- 2pm- Brunch at Stir Charlotte or on the Lake 2pm-4pm- nap cause that’s important and food will put you in a coma 6pm-8pm- bowling/skating/top golf or any fun activity like Karaoke or arcade 8pm- 10pm- dinner at Link and Pin
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I love to read and have a few books that have opened my perspective to the abundance that is in the world. Books like The Four Agreements, Believe Bigger, Abundance Now and The Million Dollar One person business, to name a few. I have a village that keeps me accountable and focus. But what I love most about my village, we stretch each other to be our best selves. Shoutout to my village of boss women: JD, Enovia, Marsha, Brandi…so many more to name that I may not personally know but connect with along the journey.
