We had the good fortune of connecting with Jadah Downey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jadah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I officially fell in love with the artistry behind makeup in 2015 once I learned how to do a full face from A Youtuber named AaliyahJay. I remember wanting to just keep on practicing until I improved at it, just to really impress myself. Shortly after that others were impressed and I soon began to accept clients. November 29, 2018 I started to explore the entrepreneurial side of things. Realizing I can not only take clients, but use my own brand to take things up a notch.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At the time I am mostly known for my Luxury False Eyelashes and beauty tools for the everyday person. Whether that’s going to your 9-5, Going to classes, Or you’re a beginner and you’re just exploring. We want you to look cute while doing it. It is beauty made easy. Honestly I am just getting started with my business. However, I plan for it to really set the tone for many of my other businesses to come. Along my journey I have really had to learn just how much social media can impact your thought process when it comes to business. In both good and bad ways. Social media has made it look very easy to run a business and not show any of the behind the scenes on what it actually takes and all of the difficulties you may face, but with God anything is possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To me, I love downtown Atlanta. Riding the Marta and just exploring different parts of the city like that. The Coca-Cola Factory and Aquarium are of course fun. But the Martin Luther King Jr. Museum/Tour and getting to see where he grew up and went to church is also great to experience for all ages. My absolute favorite restaurant is papadueaxs.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
While becoming more interested in beauty, and entrepreneurship itself. I started to pay more attention to a girl named ShadedByJade on Instagram. She was a girl not coming from wealth, or big social media fame just yet. She always seemed so genuine and down to earth while spreading the knowledge she has gained! So Shoutout to her for being a dope Girl Boss for young & upcoming Girl Bosses
