Meet Imelda Bell | Model and Lá Bel Skincare Owner and founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Imelda Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Imelda Bell, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The single most important decision I’ve made that has made me successful is having no fear. The phrase is indeed easier said then done. However practicing this behavior in real time allows you to see positive results and reach higher realms that one would not have discovered if fear remained an option. Fear will come up at various times within our lives but the determining factor to whether you rise above it is your response to it. I’ve seen a tremendous amount of success within my online sales by simply being my authentic self and putting myself out there without fear.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots within the city are all black owned. I believe in stimulating the black dollar not as a trend but a lifestyle. My friends have come to visit and the itinerary I’m about to share is one that I’ve completed with them. Tompkins in Bedstuy is a must for all your shopping essentials. This street is filled with black owned stores that cater to different niches. Out of all of the stores I’m sure you’ll be able to find something you love. A few of my favorites are Make manifest bk, Sincerely Tommy, and Life wellness bk. In terms of restaurants there’s so many it’s a bit hard to choose but a few of my favorites are: Natural Blend, Buka, Peaches, and Tilly’s.
