We had the good fortune of connecting with Eboni Montsho and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eboni, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks is a major part of life, especially when you desire any level of success. The truth is you have no choice. You must give up something in order to obtain something else. Personally, taking risks was never a matter of “if” but more so “when” and “what.” The truth is every risk that I have taken in my life has been the direct result of my past. As a teen, became a single mother. I was also a victim of domestic violence. My mindset and emotions were not healthy. Needless to say, this caused me to make unwanted decisions and establish associations with people that I should have been avoiding. At the end of the day, every situation I endured made me stronger – even if I was unable to see it at the time. Of course, there were sleepless nights and several days of lack. There were moments of frustration and levels of despair. In the midst of it all, I knew I had innocent lives to protect, and they needed to see a different lifestyle. For this reason, I went from running away from my problems to chasing risks. You see, many times it is necessary to look a risk in the eye and tell it what it will do for you. We spend too much time being afraid of risks when, in actuality, they are our friends. Today, because I have the mind to smash every goal set that has been before me, I am not afraid to stand firm in the face of any risk. I will take a leap of faith out of my comfort zone. I am no longer afraid of the new and the improved. Instead, I am afraid of what will become of me if I do not take risks. Pursuing my purpose and my passion is what I live, breathe, and eat. I have come to realize that the only way I can enjoy the journey is if I use all of the bad things as reminders of the path I have traveled and allow them to fuel the good that has come my way. Yes! I embrace risk taking because I know it will lead me to living the destiny that has been specifically designed just for me. “To God Be The Glory!”
What should our readers know about your business?
My brand is like a highway; no matter which exit you get off on, you will find exactly what you need to continue your journey. I am blessed to be the face behind Eboni Montsho Ignites, but there is so much more than what meets the eye. As an Accountability Coach, I walk you through the process of divorcing your excuses and living the life you were destined to live. From personal to professional, you receive keys to unlock doors that complacency would never allow you to access. This enables you to become a Goal Smasher and live a life of intentionally conquering every goal that you set. As an Empowerment Speaker, I bring that same energy to audiences of all sizes, reminding women (and men) that they are intricate beings with powerful gifts inside of them. This is how and why the Purpose and Passion tour travels across the country, spending days with hungry souls who need to be reignited and reintroduced to prosperity in ALL aspects of life. As the CEO of 360 HR Solutions, Inc., I help entrepreneurs and business owners strategize and execute their way to success. Soon, I’ll be launching The Accountability Institute. This will be for those who are serious about learning, breaking bad habits, growing, and goal smashing in every area of life. And if I were to list the books and products that I have been blessed to produce, we would run out of room. But the point is that I mean what I say when I say that I am passionate about accountability and goals. The only reason I got to this point is because I had to walk this process myself. I had to learn what it meant to be accountable, dedicated, and persistent. Challenges came, yes. Disappointments came, yes. But the big picture that I kept seeing was a reflection of me as healed, successful, joyful, and paving the way for countless others. Therefore, I had to keep going. Overcoming was never optional; it was the key ingredient in the recipe for success. Believe me when I say, there is much more to come!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Chicago is full of culture, full of excitement, and full of memories waiting to be made. When I host guests from out of town, we can always do the following things: visit shopping malls, take day cruises downtown, visit museums, and we cannot forget about the food. Of course, a lot of those things were much easier and more accessible pre-Covid. However, there is one staple for me that is a MUST for ANYONE who comes into Chicago. My absolute favorite place to show off Chicago eating is Uncle Remus Saucy Fried Chicken. When I tell you that this place is the best, BELIEVE ME! The food is amazing!!! The flavors burst in your mouth and the restaurant owner has created a fun, loving environment that makes you feel like family. They have 4 locations to choose from so it does not matter where we are; we WILL stop there! Any other place we visit is just an added bonus.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to be honest when I say that I certainly did not get to where I am by myself. I have some amazing family members and friends. But there are two powerful women who have been great supports to me. The first one that surpasses all other motivating factors is my beautiful mother. Her consistent love and correction, mentorship and direction, have all been thriving forces for me. Too many times in life, I wanted to wallow in self-pity. I wanted to give up, walk away, and just settle for nothingness. But with this woman in my corner, always reminding me of who I was, what I had to become, and always praying for me – SHE is the reason I can flourish and show my children how to flourish and help the world flourish. From books to businesses and beyond, my amazing mother deserves all the shoutouts I can give her – and THEN some! The second woman, whom I sincerely adore and appreciate beyond words, is my purpose partner and armor bearer – Kimberly Safford. When I say this woman has a heart of gold, it is NOT an understatement. She is my rider, she is my prayer partner, she is the one who reminds me to keep going when I get weary, and she covers me the entire way. Wherever I go, she goes – literally! From ministry endeavors to business, I am blessed to have her love and support, but more so her friendship.
