We had the good fortune of connecting with Darlaina Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Darlaina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was already doing the work for free. They said find something that you love and you will never work a day in your life. I definitely decided maybe I should start getting paid. The way my life progressed 9-5 never worked long term. My longest job was 4 yrs and the shortest was 6 weeks. For me I knew right away when I got there I would be leaving, I would either leave on my own or get asked to leave. God was kicking me out of places left and right trying to get me to see to do this work.
It took me awhile to know that this gifting will make way for me. I got it now though.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am so proud to have evolved my life and health practice to include Emotional Healing. I have learned so much about the emotions. They are the root cause of disease. Learning this transitioned my business. What sets me apart from other life and health coaches is I start with the emotions. Give me any illness and I can tell the emotional root cause. Usually when I tell someone that, they identify with the findings. One man cried and was like I feel like you’ve known me my whole life just from that information. That happens over and over with my clients. Once we have the root cause then we can identify The Who what when why and thennnnn I can tell you what to eat, what supplements to add to resolve the illness.
Business is never easy, the decision is the easy part, now the how really evolves, changes, moves. As an entrepreneur you have to be ok with failing forward. Failures will happen you just can’t quit!
I am a risk taker, rule breaker, cycle breaker. Ive learned some hard lessons along the way. The biggest one is trust the process. To get help in the areas you struggle in, ask for the help that can be hard to do.
I want the world to know that I am here to serve! I want the world to know that they/we have the power to heal ourselves mind body and soul. God gave us everything we need to do so. All we need is guidance and with God all things are possible. Let thy food be thy medicine the medicine the food-hippocrates
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Thats about to happen soon. Atlanta has a robust history and beautiful nature spaces. I would start downtown, centennial park, the Atlanta sign. So many great restaurants here, Pappadeux, Spondivits, I love seafood on occasion. The Beverly is great for lunch and a vibe. We would visit the Martin Luther king home and church, the trap museum and we must go to Cascade for some adult skate.
Then some relaxing spaces in nature. I love the space they made at Atlantic Station Just beautiful.
I can’t wait for my friends to come.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Man that list is long. My parents the late David and Sandra Martin. They raised me and my 8 siblings to serve people and love God. That is where it started. Then my then husband and his illness and him believing that I could heal him started me on this path. Von Harrigan he literally put his life in my hands. He believed in me more than I did. My children Vontia, Voncel Jr, Vertricia and Vonyel for sharing me with the world which wasn’t always convenient for them. Finally my friends that supported me with love and money to keep the dream alive during the rough patches. Dee, Karen, Tracy M, Rochelle, Chamar, Lisa P, T Sand W.i, Vernice, Lynn, Angel K, Gwen, Kathy R, Jeter, Tejay, Steph,Toni, Jeanette, Horace, Jones, Sheron, Tierra and sooo many more!
