We had the good fortune of connecting with CT Moody and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi CT, what principle do you value most?
A code I live by is behave yourself and do the right thing. Why you may ask? Well, In life you can not go around those two things. Every action, every decision goes hand and hand. if you’re doing the right thing or simply behaving yourself. I also value my faith in GOD. Without, I am nothing.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started off doing skits back in 2016. I remember someone telling me that I couldn’t make in the industry. Like clockwork a switch went off. There’s something imbedded in you when someone doubts you. Bet! I’ll show you better than I can tell you. Consistency set me apart from others. I later teamed up with Mufasa not even knowing what our future had in store for us. However, this road wasn’t easy. Life is just a endless rollercoaster that you just have to be ready for. When life hits you, just fight back! Don’t make excuses or look for self pity. Look deep within for the answer and keep pushing. It’s all trail and error. From having people canceling on me, losing my voice putting these skits out or even losing vision in my left eye. Still, I came out on top! I didn’t give up. Even with all the accomplishments that I have achieved, my son is what I am most proud of. His accomplishments and achievements motivate me to be a better father figure for him. The best reward I’ll ever receive is the unconditional love he gives. I’ve learned distractions come when you’re on the right path. Typically the right choice is the one that stands out the most. So when people think of me or my brand I want them to say, he’s a father first. God fearing man that didn’t look for hand outs, but hustled to achieve his goals. He didn’t quit or run from his problems. In fact he embraced them to come out on top. Not just for himself, but for the millions who may be going through the same who couldn’t tell their story. The Hypeman was for the people. Always will be.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Hands down, I have to give recognition to my colleague Jeff Obeng. You may know him by the handle @cousinskether aka Mufasa. He’s not only my partner in this, but he’s my friend and mentor. We’ve touched millions of people hearts in this pandemic. Giving them joy and positivity. So it’s only right I give my brother his flowers! The best part about all of this is that we’re just getting started!
