We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Shumphard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my business was a couple of different of things. The first thing was working for other people l, which I am not a fan of. The second thing was wanting to own something and have my name on it. The last thought I had was wanting something to pass down to my kids.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is photography, videography and creating shirts mask, hats etc. What separates me from others is that I teach myself multiple practices and I actually have my LLC. It’ has not not been easy. I hated having 9 to 5s so much that it kept me pushing toward my goal. I want the world to know that I’m here and if you’ve never heard of me you will!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If someone was visiting the area I would take them to Atlanta. We can go get some shots in downtown with all the beautiful scenery and we can eat at metro cafe. I really enjoy music videos and photoshoots as well as being in recording studios.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife Latoya Shumphard has played a major role in the growth of my business, she has been very supportive and patient and she kept pushing me to go further. All of my family has kept me going.
