We had the good fortune of connecting with Aria Brooks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aria, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
My career has taught me humility. There are a lot of challenges that I’ve faced in this process. Staying grounded and humble has taught me the value of hard work and it keeps me from having a lazy work ethic.
Please tell us more about you. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
I’ve always been interested in performing. Since I was three, I’ve been taking singing and dancing lessons. Musical theater is what made me realize I wanted to act. Thats when I started gravitating towards on camera acting. As an actor, you may go on 100 auditions and only get one. I had to be able to handle rejection. There were also times where I had to leave school early for an audition or to film something. It was my responsibility to catch up in school. Sometimes things got difficult, but since this was my dream I was willing to work even harder. This allowed me to learn the value of hard work early on in my career.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First, I’d take her to Waffle House. If we could stay there all day, we definitely would. Since we can’t, I’d take her to Six Flags some time during the week. We would ride as many rides as we can. We’d go to Chic Fil A at least five times throughout the week. We’ll hang at Piedmont Park and perhaps have a picnic. I’d blast Melanie Martinez and Ariana Grande while we eat ice cream.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my mom. She has sacrificed so much for me and my career. She goes above and beyond to make sure I can live my dream. Everything from her driving me to auditions to her being able to drop everything and fly me out of state for a taping. I wouldn’t be where I am without her.
