We had the good fortune of connecting with Aloni McFarland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aloni, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is the trials and tribulations I went through growing up, which helped shaped me into the woman I am today. Everyone has their own stories and their own challenges that they go through but not many can push through to make something out of it and become successful. I knew when I was 5 years old that I was uniquely different, I always was rtalented and that talent traveled with me for years, which was basketball. Although, I no longer play basketball anymore, my passion & drive still followed me and it was working out. Working out has always been my escape goat since a little girl. When I had a million things on my mind and needed to escape from the world, basketball helped me, strengthened me, and guided me. As I got older and started facing tougher problems I then found my love and passion in the weight room which resulted in me falling in love with my body and being amazed at the many things it could do naturally.

Since the age of 8 I’ve always had someone who I needed to make proud and go hard for and it was my father. Losing him was one of the hardest things I ever had to deal with and it took me awhile to face my reality, my truth, and who I really was. I still wasn’t 100% sure of who I was yet. As much potential and talent I had, I felt like I didn’t go hard enough like I could have been going all these years. Outside looking in, I’ve accomplished and done a lot but I knew I needed to do so much more!! It’s like I was hungry, but I wasn’t starving and I needed to starve. I needed to suffer again, so God could tell me this go round here is what I need you to do. I realized that when I launched my brand Sisterhood Athletics in 2018. That’s when the story truly began.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sisterhood Athletics is not just any type of brand. It is THE brand that will help all sisters come together no matter what shape, color or size they are! What sets us apart from everyone else is we represent the power of something bigger than just ourselves. It’s the actual importance of sisterhood! It’s like joining a sorority but combining them all in one to make a joined force! That’s what we represent! The power of each sister is what makes our brand explosive & creative. You might see your favorites in our Gear! ❤️

If it wasn’t for my brand I wouldn’t have reached certain levels & touched as many lives as I have. Because of my brand I am able to express who I am. It is not easy having a business in fact I took a couple months off to get my life together. It was not easy, I had a lot of customers waiting for me to drop new stuff and was dissapointed because I didn’t but that was something I had to deal with…Right now I’m in the process of rebranding and we are about to shock the world with what we have up our sleeves!

The lessons along the way is I’ve learned to not keep up with anyone else but yourself & don’t spread yourself too thin just to take time off and regroup. Don’t rush the process & don’t half ass. Before I was half-assing, now I’m more strategic.

What I want the world to know about my brand is it will make you feel good not only on the outside but on the inside. The meaning of our brand will touch anyone in itself! ✨

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to the best food spots in Atlanta. For Brunch vibes we would go for Toast on Lenox, Breakfast at barneys or Snooze Eatery. For dinner we either going to Pasha, Top Ramen, or Little Alley Steakhouse. I would take her for drinks at SlushATL, Cirque, or 12 cocktail bar. For dope vibes, food and hookah I’m taking her to Hide Kitchen and Cocktails or Blu Seafood lounge. Some of the most fun interesting places that we would check out is the aquarium, Andretti’s, or the garden room.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my brother Shamique Williams, my sister Keeyama Williams and my best friend Lachynna Ledwell. These three people played a major part in my brand and I’m forever grateful for each of them.

My brother especially for helping me fund and start my business, guide me on having a business and the pro’s and con’s on being an entrepreneur, He literally broke down the do’s and the dont’s of a business and it helped me a lot. We literally was up hours crafting and pushing my brand, I was able to get an LLC and a business debit/credit card with his help and support. He paved the way for me and made my dreams become a reality! He was the glue!

My sister Keeyama was the person who helped me with the name of my brand. Because of our strong sister bond and losing someone important to us, the name of my brand only made since to somehow formulate it around us and someone we loved. That’s where that sisterhood came into play and the pronunciation “SHAA” which is our father’s nickname. She kept me sane and poised throughout this entrepreneur process and being that she is an entrepreneur herself she was able to give me tips and pointers. She also pushed me to get an LLC and gave me great ideas for my brand. She was the “brain” I’d say.

Nextly, I want to give a special shoutout to my best friend Lachynna. Chynna pushed, pushed and pushed sisterhood. She was like my manager. She was giving me ideas/ clues, brought all my items and made sure people saw my brand! She came to pop-up shops with me, packaged and delivered items for me all while having her own personal life. Chynna has a following, so she was able to attract her followers to my brand and brought me loyal customers. Her creative mind and fasionista ways rubbed off on me and I was able to incorporate it in my brand. We love looking our best and being fly so I cultivated fit and fashion. My fitness brand had dope colors and versatility which is alike like me & Chynna’s style! She helped my brand in so many ways. She was the “support system” <3.
