We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Day Sanarr McLaughlin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexis Day, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
Many people measure success by how much money they have, what they can buy, etc… Our measurement is a little different, We measure by how much freedom we have in our day to day. Spending the time in your day the way you want and not based on need is the end goal. Don’t get us wrong, money/multiple streams of income is always the grind but shifting to where it is no longer being chased to it naturally coming in without you overseeing the process is a different kind of flex.
digitalXmedia was created for both clients and eXperts to have control over their advertising and time. The digital marketing world is constantly changing and we want to make sure we are one of the leaders to show that it is ok to not do business the traditional route but to allow your money to work for you without you constantly hovering.
I don’t think there is an “end” to a career that is constantly shifting, but more of phases. We will always continue to build on opportunities where we see there is a gap in the market, along with wanting to create spaces for individuals to water their ideas. So I guess in the end, we want to not only be able to truly make our time our own, but help other small innovators in doing the same.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
digitalXmedia was founded in 2019 based on the owner’s agency and client-side experience and their desire to add value the marketing support ecosystem by streamlining the resource acquisition process, making it more affordable for business owners and more accessible for marketing professionals.
We are working on and extremely excited to incorporate a business plan to contribute to health and wellness organizations. We have a strong focus on mental health for our freelancers, beyond work-life balance, providing opportunities to manage emotional, psychological and physical well being.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is a mecca dining and hanging out experiences!
Eat and Drink at one of the Interlock’s many restaurant options (Drawbar, LOA, Velvet Taco) or Chatahoochee Food Works with its elaborate eatery selection… the ambiance doesn’t hurt also.
Enjoy the Bamboo Forest for some catch up time
There is also always a pop experience in downtown Atlanta, such as a Mad Hatter Tea Party, The Queen’s Ball “Bridgerton Experience, Art Shows like Banksy!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our success and continued journey will always be because of the support we receive from family and friends. Our parents, siblings, mentors, life coaches, fitness coaches, etc.. We have so many friends that have started their own business, that we see everyday grinding towards success as well, and still have time to stop and let us know that they see us and to keep going (shop-bob, HPC Consulting, Rich & Regular, Enrich’d Media, to name a few). The praises and pep talks are in abundance. The amount of support that is thrown on a daily basis from not only loved ones but also people that may of just heard our story from a mutual friend, makes us totally speechless.
