We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aaron, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to start my own business as a way to show individuals how to create a dramatic shift in their life using tools and techniques they’ve probably never heard of before. I wanted to help people like me who were looking for a way to a new life and lifestyle but didn’t always know how to do it. I also wanted to make sure that my services were cost-effective. I felt like this is an essential part of servicing individuals who are trying to make a way.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
HIYERAlignment is the Holistic Inspiration for Your Empowerment and Revolution. I am here to inspire individuals to create a life full of well-being using holistic and metaphysical tools and techniques. This is what sets me apart from others. My approach is very pragmatic and down-to-earth, but it also involves some interesting tools. I look at life in 7 different areas: Health & Fitness, Relationships, Career, Finance, Personal Development, Spirituality, and Recreation. I work to align thoughts, beliefs, and patterns of behavior with a positive and desired outcome. I use tools like Shamatha (Mindfulness) Meditation, EFT (the Emotional Freedom Technique), Dreamwork, Lucid Dreaming, Breathwork, and other self-exploration tools to help develop new habits and achieve new goals. This is what helps to create a lifestyle change.

I started my business during the pandemic –as many others. I did it through social media, on Instagram, where I still hold personal development workshops. Slowly, I expanded my services and got requests to do physical products. This too I was also resistant to in the beginning, but I became open to it and from there I’ve been able to share crystal jewelry, hand-rolled incense, smudge bundles, and more alongside the workshops and masterclasses. I am appreciative of each individual I’ve been able to interact with and assist in their personal development journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, first we have to go to Little Five Points. This place is a bit mystical just like myself. I’d actually want to get there early so we could go to Revolution Donuts. The blueberry donut and honestly even the regular vanilla bean –both of them are absolutely amazing. Later on, we would visit the shops. I’d have to stop at Cultural Accents and see Khadija. She owns the shop. It’s beautiful and the items are amazing. We would also have to stop at Sevananda to get some herbs.

I think I would also have to take my friend to Leon’s Full Service in Decatur. It’s one of my favorite places to eat. So we would have to make time for an evening there. Other places to eat… Jinya in Sandy Springs. That place is good. I get the Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen. The Cuban Sandwich place in Ponce City Market is also good and Ponce is just a nice place to hang out in general.

We would also have to go to the Piedmont area. It’s nice and beautiful on a summer afternoon. When I’m in that area I always like to go to Blick, the art store. I’m creative and I like creative things. It’s cool just to walk around there and see the items that they have in there. I’ve been sometimes and they have live free demos. It’s just something small and fun to do. In the evening, I like to go to live music events –Kat’s Cafe, Apache, etc. Some things have shifted since COVID, but I like the local music here and the atmosphere towards artists and musicians. If you’re interested in that kind of thing you can definitely find some show and a nice meal any day of the week any time of the year.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I thank my sister, Brianna, and my friend, Thomas, because they both suggested that I get my certification in life coaching and start a business. I was very resistant at first, but I have been able to help so many. I have been able to show people the possibilities of being open to new things just as I have experienced the amazing possibilities of being open to new things.
