Meet Aunya Jett | Cricut & Sublimation Coach | Mompreneur | Personalized & Custom Gifts

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aunya Jett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aunya, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
For me, success is less about the kind of car I drive, how much money I have in my bank account, etc. Success for me is more about looking at my situation and asking myself if it has improved over the last 6 months, 12 months, 5 years. Have I continued to learn new things? Have I fought to overcome my fears? Have I set a good example for my children? Have I learned from my mistakes? Am I always striving to do my personal best? It’s about looking back and seeing my own personal growth and celebrating how far I’ve come.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve had a love of crafting for as long as I can remember. During the pandemic, a friend of mine introduced me to Cricut (a brand of complex cutting machines). I bought it and fell in LOVE! I would spend hours and hours on the internet watching how-to videos and reading blogs just to figure out how to use it. I started making 3D greeting cards and envelopes, bookmarks, and home decor items. I would give those items out as gifts to friends and family, and they loved them.
My friend urged me to start an Etsy shop, but I just didn’t think my products were good enough to sell. I suffered from imposter syndrome, and I didn’t even know it. For months, I went back and forth on whether or not to start my own Etsy shop. It was really scary and I had no idea what I was doing, but I did it.
I needed help to work through the imposter syndrome and I had some self-limiting beliefs, but first I needed to acknowledge I couldn’t work through it alone.
I decided to reach out to a business coach I had learned about, and she really helped me get things off to a great start. She provided the foundations and the guidance I needed to be successful. Since then, I have participated in other coaching programs that specialize in mindset, social media strategy and content planning, among other things.
All of these things taught me a valuable lesson: we all need guidance. Googling it will only get you so far because you can’t Google what you don’t know. Getting help from someone who’s been there will get you specialized training that’s tailored to your needs as an individual and as a business owner. That will ultimately lead to you getting faster and better results.
No part of my journey has been easy, but it’s been worth it. And I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
My brand is all about encouraging women to step out of fear and into their identities as CEO’s. I want to give them the tools to build successful businesses with confidence that gives them the flexibility they need to also live their lives. I teach Cricut and sublimation but being a successful business owner involves so much more than making “pretty” designs. I’ve spent hundreds of hours combing the internet for techniques and answers, sitting through seminars, and getting business coaching. I want women to benefit from my knowledge and no longer feel like they have to figure it out on their own. I want to support and guide them because I’ve been where many of them are, and I know the possibilities that await them. That’s what my Cricut and sublimation coaching program is all about.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ve got some amazing friends here in my city. I would likely have a big gathering with lots of food for my bestie at my home so she could meet some of the other people I love. Next, we would check out one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, Guadalajara Grill, for some amazing steak fajitas. We would also have to put on our Colts gear and head downtown to Lucas Oil Stadium to catch a Colts game. And there’s no way she’s leaving my city without some self-care – a spa day just for the girls! Massages at Massage Envy are a must!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My supportive husband and children deserve so much recognition for not only allowing me to take this journey, but for joining me every step of the way. There’s no way I could do this without their love and support.
I’m also grateful for each and every one of my amazing customers who wholeheartedly trust me with their businesses and the visions they have for their projects.
I’ve worked with several business coaches who have all played a vital role in helping me fulfill my dreams.
Last, but certainly not least, is my God. The strength and wisdom I draw from Him gives me the courage and power to keep things in perspective and stay focused on the “why” of my brand story.
