We had the good fortune of connecting with Ziere Bryant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ziere, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Hmph, great question. I think the most important lesson I’ve learned whilst being on my artistic journey is that “It’s all on you”. Although that may seem like second nature or a “given” to those of us who are on any type of life journey as I look around, I see a myriad of people occupying their time by sitting around and waiting for the solution to all of their problem to fall out of the sky.

I started my career in music at a young age and by doing so I was forced to teach myself how to juggle all of life’s problems’ whilst also & pursuing my career as life stops for no one no matter the circumstance. Even after overcoming a slew of curveballs – in which I touched upon in my previous sit down with Voyage ATL, I am constantly reminded that no matter how good thing are because of my actions they can be just as bad due to my actions as well, in other words it’s all on me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a music artist by the name of ZI3RE (zy – ear). I utilize multiple genres but I’m what really sets me apart from the rest is my ability to rap. The first few years of my career I focused heavily on finding myself & honing my skill. I also invested a few years building my recording studio & teaching myself how to mix and master. I wasn’t releasing a lot of music around that time & my fanbase started to dwindle but I knew it was a necessary step to further my career.

A large part of “this game” is knowing what’s working and why, I have a keen eye for seeing through fodder, so I’ve been able to adapt & efficiently present/promote myself throughout the many phases of hip hop & social media.

The biggest challenges I’ve had to overcome are maintain a work/life balance. Life isn’t easy for anyone & I don’t like to think I’ve had it harder than the next person so I won’t think that, but what I can say is that If I didn’t step up & do what I had to do at every step of the way I probably wouldn’t have much work or a life to balance so I can’t complain.

The one thing I would like the world to know about me is that the same way I believe in myself, I believe in you the same way and we can all achieve our dreams if we apply ourselves and put our minds to it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a pretty secluded person & aren’t really the big crowd type so I would suggest going to some local parks, you’d be surprised what they have to offer until you get out there and experience it first hand.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a huge shoutout to Brandon Malcolm (@Malcmediaa) for being my right-hand man and camera man my whole career. I’d also give a shoutout to Danasha Clay (@braidsbysade) for helping me build my recording studio, being my hairdresser & being a creative shoulder to lean on every step of the way. I’d also shoutout to Dinero Dunn (_Only1Deno) for being my brother in arms and keeping me motivated all these years.
