We had the good fortune of connecting with Victor Thomson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victor, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always enjoyed challenges and pushing myself. I don’t think anything is impossible, hence why I devoted years to learning every bit of digital marketing and starting my own business in order to help struggling small businesses with their marketing needs. I’ve been helping businesses for free, and that gives me so much joy.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe passion got me to where I am. I started my career as a light airplane pilot, before switching to Helicopter flying. My flying career made me believe that there is nothing the mind can not achieve. When I started my journey as a digital marketer, I struggled with understanding metrics and using data to make informed decisions. I paid for a lot of marketing classes to learn anything and everything I was either struggling with or needed more clarity on. This helped me over most challenges I faced while starting out..

Lesson Learnt: Investment in knowledge pays the best interest

I want my brand to be known as the true answer to every small business marketing need.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s definitely alot to do in Atlanta. I would plan trips to local restaurants like ‘Fresco cantina grille” in Rosewell. I would spend the night trying out most pubs downtown, The aquarium, Botanical garden, a visit to rosewell mill and definitely one of my favorite restaurant in sandyspring ”North river tavern” to try out their delicious nachos fries.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate a shoutout to Steve Covey whose book ”7 habits of highly effective people” taught me the principles of empathic communication, and Donald Miller, the author of ”Building a story brand” who’s book gave me a better perspective of branding in the modern age. I’ve been able to merge lessons from these two books to build a brand that understands and solves problems.
