We had the good fortune of connecting with Amai West and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amai, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?

Yes one of my favorite affirmations is something that I came up with myself while I was in the most depressing times in my life and it goes like this

I am too big to hide and I shine too bright to go unnoticed -Amai West

I came up with that because it’s true I am a bigger woman everything Is big And because everything is proportionally big why try to hide it when I walk in the room and I don’t even say anything that’s not in but shining star energy

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started modeling in the summer of 2018 at the age of 18 Just breaking free from the Thoughts and naysayers finally living for me. What sets me apart from others is my drive my determination my love for my craft I am photogenic with great improvising skills I could turn nothing into something and create Magic! you better ask these photographers about me.;) What excited me was when I took my first plane trip to New York to walk in New York fashion week 2.0 Big thanks to Dime Management! I kept Networking and Doing music videos and going to different casting calls and I have done a lot of shoots as well. I won’t lie and say that the process is easy I feel like the process wouldn’t be as beneficial if it came easy I feel like to get the best results you have to put in you have to work for your wealth. I overcame the challenges with the help of my friends and family cheering me on including my supporters I love them they cheer me on every day and they keep me going. Some of the lessons that I learned were to always hang in the good crowds never hang around bad influences you are who you hang with, Always bring your A-game to every shoot music video movie casting, or TV casting, Prayer and effort bring promising outcomes, and Last but not least tune out all the naysayers KEEP GOING no matter what your time is coming! I want the world to know that this ugly, fat, bald, headed, will never amount to anything, stupid, retarded piggy, porky, fatty, Cute for a big girl, Curvy Model is going to change the game look out for Amai west Representing my victims of bullying and My plus size beauties

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s funny because my friends will be visiting me soon and I have planned out an itinerary so first I would take them out to lunch at Juicy crab Then I would take them to the Shedd aquarium, I also would love to walk around in Midtown and eat Japanese food at a restaurant called GYU-KAKU In midtown Atlanta Then what’s going to Atlanta without going to the trap museum to take bunches of selfies and create content and to make great memories Maybe find a sip and paint and take them there

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I first want to shout out to God because without him I am nothing. I want to shout out to Kimberly Means, and Shirley Gardner Two very strong women that raised me and my little sisters I wanna shout out to my grandmother Deborah Samilton For opening up her home to me in Atlanta so I can further follow my dreams! I also want to give a special shout out to the friends the true friends I had in high school that helped me through My hard times at school with bullying I love you all forever
