We had the good fortune of connecting with Tomarion Mills and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tomarion, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
Being a parent means sacrificing a lot of things for your children but I decided to sacrifice my career in order to be a stay-at-home mom and homeschool my child. I had a long career in higher education as an Academic Counselor and a part-time Licensed Massage Therapist and after much thought I decided to leave both jobs and dedicate my time to homeschooling my child. This change has made a huge impact on my child. It has created a stronger bond between us and it also allowed me to be flexible in my time and in turn I started my own business. So now my child can see the ins and outs of running a business. There is no greater feeling than knowing you are your child’s role model .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
After years of purchasing natural organic skincare products, I decided to create my own universal first-aid healing salve. In 2018, Plant Magic Vegan Salve was created as my go-to salve to keep on hand for all first-aid purposes. This salve is made to heal and protect wounds on your body that promotes rapid healing. Plant Magic Vegan Salve is made with natural and organic ingredients that are environmentally friendly. Plant Magic Vegan Salve can be used on all skin types and all ages from babies to adults and even your fur babies. There is nothing like it on the market! Once I set my mind to something I make it happen so I really didn’t have any challenges starting my brand and creating my vision. The only challenge that came with starting a new business is that I did this in a new city where I had no friends/family so I had to really network to promote my business. We are all so used to using conventional and cheap “skincare” but I created Plant Magic Vegan Salve to show the world that you can switch your mindset and go from conventional and cheap to healing in a natural organic way with ingredients you can recognize and pronounce.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a foodie so we would start the day at Cafe Sunflower Buckhead and then I would take them on a stroll at the Atlanta Beltline. For lunch I would take my best friend to Viva la Vegan for their famous Shrimp Po Boys and we would walk off our food at the Fernbank Science Center. Dinner at the Herban Fix for some good eats! The next day would take an early morning hike at the Stone Mountain Park walk up hiking trail. Other places I would take my best friend is the Georgia Aquarium and the SkyView Ferris wheel. There are a lot of attractions in Atlanta that I haven’t visited such at the Atlanta Botanical Garden and the High Museum of Art.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my wife, Aminah Mills. Aminah and I have been married for 7 years and she has supported every one of my dreams and aspirations. I would like to thank her for being my sounding board. It helps me grow to have someone that listens to me and offers feedback when needed. She is also an amazing mother to our child Sage. We love her to the moon and back.
