We had the good fortune of connecting with One Disdain and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi One Disdain, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
In my opinion the most important factor behind my success is the impact i have on others. sometimes its hard to stay motivated as a creative but when i see how my work affects others it pushes me to put out more content. It always amazes me how much people can relate to what i go through and to me that is the true definition of success; Showing people that they’re not alone.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think one thing that sets me apart from others is my authenticity. when i make music i speak directly from the heart and i try to create a sound that’s outside of the box. of course i draw inspiration from others but i respect artistry & by doing so i make it my mission to create my own sound. Although im a musician im also passionate in photography & videography. i do both of these when im not recording music & honestly none of these things were easy things to become skilled at. music took years of practice to perfect my sound and likewise for photography. the most challenging part was getting people to see the talent that i always knew i had. years of consistency and hard work helped people appreciate my art and over time i built a solid foundation. I want the world to know that my brand speaks for everyone who feels like they’re lacking something. my name is “one disdain” for a reason , it always seems like there is one reason or another why people aren’t satisfied. i try to put out my art as a way to let people know that no one is perfect but you are still valued.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
i’m actually from florida so my favorite spots might be a little different. my favorite thing to do is eat good food. right now i actually don’t have a favorite restaurant but i do have a favorite food at the moment (it’s constantly changing). right now im hooked on soul food , so if you’re ever in jacksonville stop by “shut em down”. i also like to bowl so any bowling spot is cool with me.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shoutout my back up camera man izzy joven. any time i need a video shot for myself i call her up and describe the vision & she executes it to perfection. a lot of my content is produced with her help.
