We had the good fortune of connecting with Tinisha Ransome and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tinisha, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
I don’t believe that we need to have it all figured out before we try something new or take a risk. Sometimes figuring it out as you go works better than overanalyzing every detail. I’ve learned so much on this journey of starting my own business and I continue to learn new things everyday. I think it keeps me more open to change and keeps me flexible when I need to pivot away from something that doesn’t work. It’s also a whole lot more fun!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my career life as primary care physician. I thought that I would only be a physician for the rest of my life and I was content and happy with that. I’m proud to be the first doctor in my family. Im proud of the care that I provide to my patients everyday. When I started baking as a hobby I never imagined that it would be possible to be a scientist and a creative at the same time. Baking has shown me that I am both! I can be creative as both a doctor and as a baker. I help people with medicine and cake, which is pretty awesome. Owning my own baking company has shown me that I don’t have to be perfect to be creative and create joy. Im excited to keep learning and growing as a new business owner. Im looking forward to this new work life balance that I’m creating for myself.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had all pre-covid access to Atlanta I would take my bestie on a week long food tour! We must eat at: Atlanta fish market, tassili’s raw reality, south city kitchen (I stan for all three locations), atlanta breakfast club, slim and huskeys, milk and honey, twisted soul cookhouse Drinks at JCT kitchen and bar, Gypsy kitchen, parlor, the sundial, city winery ice cream at jeni’s We may need to do some exercise to burn off all these calories so we’ll need to hike up Kennesaw mountain, indoor rock climbing at Atlanta rocks! and trampoline jumping at sky zone After all that we’ll need to relax and have a nice view of the city while on a ferris wheel at Skyview atlanta or take pics at The roof at ponce city market
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
