We had the good fortune of connecting with Tierra Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tierra, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At a young age, my grandmother told me to make sure I did not just sit on ideas. She always encouraged me to pursue every dream with no regrets! My grandmother, who is no longer with us, knew then, that I always wanted to have my own business. I often shared with my grandmother, my passion and aspirations to provide a service or product line to empower women and to promote self –love. Women want to experience a high level of confidence that is inspiring not only to herself but to those that comes in contact with her. Whether it’s on a personal level or from afar. When it comes to the specific thought process behind my business, I think of how I feel wearing or using my items and the confidence that follows. Every woman has a dream look that she desires for herself and I have created a resource that helps achieve one’s desire through the dreaming experience of shopping with Dream By Her.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Perception is everything and having the tools and resources to put your best self forward are vital. Dream by Her was birth by me wanting to always put my best self forward! Dream by Her is like no other because it’s based on my own self love journey. I am learning everyday to appreciate every part of me and my beauty. Although there are many other brands and businesses similar to mine, none of them have the same exact vision as I do. I truly put my heart and myself into my business. When I make decisions for my business I think of how I would feel if I was to wear or use this and does it give the vibe that I am seeking or that someone else is desiring. When I started my business I felt many emotions but fear was not one of them. I will definitely say being an entrepreneur is not for the weak because you have to be your biggest cheerleader and influencer to reach your goals. You must change your habits for the better, train your mind to remain focused and speak positivity over everything you do! I learned that on this journey you need to stay consistent, disciplined, and to be true to yourself at all times because you had the Dream and only you know how it ends.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Turn Up!!! Atlanta is filled with with dope spots but I would first take them to Sage Woodfire Tavern located in Dunwoody across from perimeter. This place is a 10/10 for the music, vibe, drinks, and the food, O-M-G , the best! You can literally go there for brunch or dinner and you’ll have the best experience. Next, I would take them to the Sky lounge, downtown Atlanta. This is the place to go when you want good drinks and a beautiful city view. Lastly, we would end the evening at the Pounce City Market. Pounce City Market is like a one stop shop. You can get a cool experience, food, shopping , rooftop games and drinks. Fun times!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Everyone who knows me, knows, that I am a perfectionist. However, my absolute favorite cousin, Simone, constantly reminded me that there is never a perfect time! I probably wouldn’t have started Dream by Her when I did if it wasn’t for her constant encouragement. Simone has been with me every step of the way! Whether it was words of encouragement, constant reminders of why I love what I do and for an endless advisement on business development and growth.

I would be remissed, not mention my boyfriend Marquiz. He has literally been there every step of the way. Helping with shipping/handling orders, listening to my many ideas, running my endless errands and his daily motivation. I am forever appreciative for him not letting me do this on my own and being there for whatever I need. He understands and supports my vision and aspiration for my business.

It’s nothing like having success partners who genuinely want to see you win and pushes you into your purpose all while being the best cheerleaders you can ask for. I thank them both for being with me on this beautiful journey.
