We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrence Phillips and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Terrence, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well, growing up, my father always owned his own business, so entrepreneurship was always what I knew. My mother was an accountant, but she also did side jobs to make extra money. However, I never really knew what I wanted to be when I was growing up. I just knew I wasnt naturally super athletic, and since I wasn’t tall, starting my own business made the most sense lol

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well i do mostly photo and video for artist and brands in my city and other cities and states as well, recently i took a break from everything due to life being life, but to answer those questions now it wasn’t easy making my name and building my brand but to make it seem easy, i would say you just have be consistent, only put out your best work, and believe in god in the process, i want the world to know is that i feel that every person pursuing entrepreneurship should try master one thing before they expand and learn other things

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ummm, I would probably take them to my side of town, which is the southside of Little Rock. We could go get Brewsters or wings for takeout if they want some good home-style food and soul food. There are other places as well, like more upscale options such as Sonny Williams, Sullivan, Cache, or even Samanthas. I love lamb chops, so Samanthas and Sullivans are some of my go-tos. Then, if we are out after 12-2am, we could go drink at an after-hours spot like Midtown Billiards. We just got a Top Golf too, and I grew up golfing a little, so I have been going there a lot lately.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to god and family/village, i know i bumped my head alot growing up espescially after highschool but god and family for sure
