We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taylor, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to pursue a creative career because it was literally the only thing that offered me some slight fulfillment of my purpose within life. Whether it’s pertaining to styling, writing, creative direction, or anything of that matter is when I truly get into my element when I begin to understand I am God sent.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a creative wardrobe stylist based in Atlanta Georgia, I specialized in high end consignment, style direction and wardrobe consulting. When I think about the art of styling I think of visual architecture telling, creating, narrating a story within your clothes and brands. It takes a special eye to be able to convey the vision of what exactly the client(s) want with their outfit or wardrobe for whatever special reason. That’s where I come in at, to help tell the story.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A friend is coming down to visit me for a week and I get to show them around ?!?!? Of course we’re going shopping, first we’ll go downtown and hit up no signal, a really cool consignment shop here in Atlanta, probably go visit little 5 points shopping district also they’ll love it there. For lunch we could visit Ponce city market, right near la Fonda’s, a top tier Mexican restaurant in east Atlanta. We can have a adorable picnic at Piedmont park or go on a museum date at the high. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The people I would like to shoutout are the people that genuinely love and support me. They know exactly who they are and just know I feel the same about you, anybody that rocks with me I rock with you.
