We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I really wanted to create a community and resources for women to build a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. After working in the marketing and influencer space, I found myself in a “rat race” and I was feeling very uninspired and unfulfilled. It wasn’t until I prioritized spending time with the Lord privately, that I had my biggest glow up. I want this for EVERY woman. I’ve create Life en Privée (Life in Private) to help women navigate their private time with the Lord by providing calendars and bible study tools. I’ve recently launched Heavenly Citizen Club, which is an app to help bridge the faith community gap. Our app provides weekly devotionals, daily scriptures and so much more!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Prior to launching my business I’ve worked with and under multiple businesses as a digital marketer. When I first moved to Atlanta, I started out at a small digital marketing agency which was foundational for me. Shortly after that, I launched my own digital firm and managed clients for about 2 years. I really loved this part of my journey because it really taught me A LOT about entrepreneurship and tenacity.

I decided to pivot to influencing full time for about 2 years, which really opened my eyes to the content creator world. Transparently, a few challenges I’ve personally faced as a full time influencer with no management had to deal with expressing my faith and getting paid on time. This was a very frustrating moment and this led me back to corporate. I currently work at Accenture, in the digital marketing space (which I absolutely LOVE), alongside running my business. I still create content, but I don’t feel boxed in.

I really want to encourage you to not be afraid of switching careers or starting a business. Jobs will always be available, but your time won’t. I’ve always been the type to pivot first and figure the rest out later, I’ll say those experiences have helped me narrow down what I like and don’t like. My goal is to love my work so much, that it doesn’t feel like i’m working.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you’re a foodie, here’s a quick list of a few of my favorite spots. 1) Fudo Sushi
2) Garden Room (aesthetic)
3) Le Colonial
4) Atlanta Breakfast Club
5) Vero Pizza
6) 246 (OMG SO GOOD)
7) Houston’s (You can never go wrong with the Hawaiian Steak)

These restaurants are in no particular order. I’m on the hunt to find a really good and authentic mexican restaurant.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom deserves SO MUCH credit! She’s continuously pushed me to pursue my dreams and understands entrepreneurship. This is so valuable because she’ll share words of encouragement, scriptures and resources to help me stay on track with my purpose.
