We had the good fortune of connecting with Taimere Wood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taimere, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m a military brat so my family bounced around alot but lived in the DMV area for 10 years before moving to Atlanta. I graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a degree in criminal justice and started my career in the nonprofit sector at the Atlanta Police Foundation. Moving through the various departments of the organization, I was able to learn all facets of a nonprofit organization and became the Business Operations Coordinator. Although my passion was in criminal justice and public safety is important, I wanted to focus the needs of the individual and moved on to Mental Health America of Georgia which focuses more on mental health literacy and and Suicide prevention strategies. It was there, that I realized that I can make more of an impact by helping other nonprofits by consulting with them to become sustainable organizations in the community they serve.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Back Office Support Services (B.O.S.S.) was created by Taimere Wood to arm sector leaders with high-performance practices to ensure organization sustainability. Combined with her extensive knowledge of the nonprofit environment, she helps nonprofits and philanthropies change what’s achievable in social impact.
B.O.S.S. offers a comprehensive range of services, from nonprofit startups, operation compliance assessments, donor records database support and expert assistance with a variety of other institutional advancement needs. B.O.S.S.’s solutions don’t come out of a box ready to plug and play. She prides herself on identifying your challenges quickly and designing strategies to address them, always keeping top of mind your nonprofit’s need.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would most certainly take them to Kaleidoscope for Brunch on Sunday.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout to Silence the Shame and Shanti Das for being my first client and believing in my skills and expertise and help lead the organization to sustainability. I appreciate Jewell Gooding for making the connection.
