We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
In my professional life, I am actually a case manager for criminal defendants awaiting trial. On a social level, I am a shy introvert; but, In this profession I have to be less meek and more assertive and authoritative. I was lucky and fortunate to land a position in my discipline after graduating with my undergraduate degree. But, my work ethic is how I earned my case management position. My best practices are to excel at whatever role I am in. I always keep in mind that even though recognition may appear to go unnoticed, someone is always watching. So always give 110% in effort, and be excellent, not average.

I would like the world to know that I am not a half stepper. When I do anything, I go all in. I do not sacrifice quality – that is quality in work that I produce and quality in the efforts that I employ to get my work done. My work ethic is straight across the board, which is why my career translates well into my entrepreneurial life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In my professional life, I am actually a case manager for criminal defendants awaiting trial. As I mentioned previously, I am a shy introvert; but, In this profession I have to be less meek and more so assertive and authoritative. I am proud of myself for being in a position of power where I am being dragged out of this shell that I have been so comfortable in and for enhancing my skills in communicating, multi-tasking and organizing.

I was lucky and fortunate to land a position in my discipline after graduating with my undergraduate degree. But, my work ethic is what has gotten me my case management position. I am always respectful and professional to everyone and I do my job very well. My best practices are to excel at whatever role I am in. I always keep in mind that even though recognition may appear to go unnoticed, someone is always watching. So always give 110% in effort, be excellent not average.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There is a lot to do within and around Atlanta. We can always find a festival or a market to visit. Piedmont park is huge and relaxing with all sorts of events to choose from. There are a lot of restaurants in the surrounding area that we can literally walk to. I am a foodie that is always looking for something new to try. For brunch I really enjoy ABC (Atlanta Breakfast Club), Le Petit Marche and Negril. The Battery is a nice place to spend the day, it is full of shops, nice restaurants and you can find yummy sweet treats to satisfy your sweets craving. Depending on the time of year we can go to a Braves game if you’re in a sports kind of mood. For casual drinks we can visit Fat Tuesdays or we can dress up and go to Cru wine bar. Ponce City Market is a favorite of mine as well. There are a plethora of shops and foods to try. Marrakesh Mediterranean Market is a must for yummy fresh Mediterranean food. Ponce is the place that is the most fun and exciting. Skyline park is full of adventure, the Beltline stretches far across Atlanta where you are bound to see just about anything. And to end this weekend of food and adventure, Jeju Sauna is a place that I have always wanted to visit. I have heard a lot of great things about this spa, so this would be a great ending for a little rest and relaxation.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to all women that wear numerous hats – career women, wives, mothers, entrepreneurs. Sometimes it is hard trying to balance it all, but it gets done gracefully and passionately.

I would of course like to recognize my family who have all supported me during this process. All of those that have purchased my products, shared my brand with others, have given me feedback and advised me on business practices. The support system that I have is amazing. Of course my friends, they are right there next to my family. I am a shy introvert that loves to create and produce. Because I am this shy introvert, speaking up to sell myself and my products can be intimidating. I am thankful that they support me and push me out of my shell.
