We had the good fortune of connecting with Shonell Flowers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shonell, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I feel that you have to be consistent with your habits, especially if they are giving you a level of success. To me successful habits are having a positive attitude, getting up early to plan your day, personal care and a plan of action. I didn’t always have successful habits but there are a few self development books that have helped me along the way. Now I plan my day the night before, I have a calendar the keep me organized and I have my alarm for notifications. Another thing is prioritize what’s most important to get accomplish first.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a full-time teacher, a mom of two boys, sports mom and involved in my church community. I am also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. In 2018 I became a travel business owner. Many people ask how do I juggle so much and I have to say that keeping my WHY in front of me ( which is my two boys). Self development books and having mentors along this journey has helped me tremendously. Getting to where I am today looking back on 2018 was not easy. There were moments when I did get discouraged but giving up was never an option. I want the world to know why I became a travel business owner while being a full time teacher and raising two boys. In 2017 I was diagnosed with a tumor and I had a surgery that lasted about 12 hours. I was out of work for 3 month and I was not financially prepared. Being a travel business owner, my business is e- commerce and I’m able to help people from my cell phone, tablet and any other electronic devices. What I love is that my business does not take time away from boys and everything else that I participate in.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a sports girls and love activates such as going to games, bowling alley and go-carts. The day would start off eating brunch at Highland Bakery in Atlanta Ga. After that we would relax after stuffing our faces and go to spa! Now time to hit the mall and do some shopping for a night of fun! After all the shopping we’ve built up another appetite for Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen where I’m going to eat my favorite Pasta Mardi Gras! After being super full at this point, time to get ready for the night. Our destination would probably be Top Golf! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to Shoutout Chelsea Arrington for recommending me for a interview! I also have to shoutout my business mentors and coach, Jessica Allen and Tameika Smith. And my mom for being my support system. Lastly, I strive to empower others to live their dreams, starting my travel business is one of the best decisions that I’ve made.
