We had the good fortune of connecting with Shantez Herrington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shantez, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
The end goal is to have a streaming platform for all of the original that we produce. We see our audience growing more over the years to come, so we want to create a media outlet that provides them unlimited access to the content they want to see. We’re looking into partnerships with the right companies and campaigns to expand our brand along with genres of content that we create. We want to be a multi-faceted and multi-purpose production company. We want to take the brand international, we want to find story-tellers all around the world and have them work for us. Who knows, as we continue to grow the end goal may change, we know for a fact we want to work for us and tell the stories we want to tell for a living. Film Is Life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Honestly, we feel we’ve set ourselves apart just based on what we can do, and how far we’re willing to go to achieve our goal. The tenacity we display every day and throughout each year is what sets us apart. I’m very proud of consistency, the opportunities, and the many connections we’ve made over the years behind this brand. It started with just an idea, now we’re four years in with a bigger vision and a bigger desire to grow. We’re putting all the pieces together to achieve the bigger picture. It’s definitely not for everyone, I can’t classify what we do as easy. Not everyone will see the vision in the very beginning, support is hard to come by, money will always be a challenge unless you were born fortunate. You overcome the odds and the challenges by never losing sight of the goal, no matter what life may throw at you. Its easier said than done but you have to be relentless when you have a dream that only you can see at first. I’ve learned that all problems can’t be solved in one day, somethings in life take time to manifest, patience is a lifestyle. It’s alright to take a break from time to time, just not too long lol. It’s all about balance at the end of the day. Make time for what matters to you, and always make time for you, take care of self first. I want the world to know that we were born visionaries placed here to capture and tell stories from all over the world. We have endless creative energy and we will not stop until we reach our goal, because we love what we do. I named my company Film Is Life Productions for a reason, My life is literally centered around capturing moments, directing people, creating platforms, and elevating brands.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well being that COVID-19 has had major impact on the social scene, I’m not the planner when it comes to hanging out lol. I let the day/night/week come naturally with whatever is available. I just started learning to cook rather than eating out lol so I could see myself making different meals that I’m comfortable with letting other people try. I’m really a home body, I only like to go out if we’re celebrating something, due to covid I haven’t had that luxury lately. I rather get the right people together, we hang out at the crib and create our own vibe. I love being in a controlled environment when it comes to being social, I don’t have to worry about certain things than when I’m in public and the environment is less controlled. I hope I don’t sound too boring lol I’m really the life of the party though. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I’d like to give a huge shoutout to God, through his grace and mercy I’ve been able to overcome the odds and see myself for who I want to be. He gave me the vision and talent so I’m nothing with his blessing. I’d also like to dedicate this shoutout to my dad Bishop Jerome Herrington, unfortunately, he passed away January 3rd, 2020, but he believed in my brand and pushed me to be my own boss, just like he was. Love you popz.
